(( This is not edited for spelling/grammar yet and probably won’t be. I’m a mostly casual RPer and am glad to have got myself to finally update my TRP about section and just felt like sharing it here. I also know there’s not a lot of traffic here anymore, but whatever. I miss when there were lots of [RP] posts. Enjoy or don’t. I had fun writing it. ))
Pragus Blessedfeet is the younger brother of Kraggus Blessedfeet. Their parents were traveling dwarven holy people, spreading the word of the Light across Dun Morogh and beyond. They were known for being fast on their feet, bringing Light to the darkest corners of Azeroth. That is until on a caravan to Refuge Point the couple were forced to stop at Swiftgear Station in the Wetlands as the pregnancy of Kraggus took a heavy toll on his mother,Thorga. She birthed him but was left temporarily disabled from the trauma. The Blessedfeets resolved to stay at Swiftgear Station, prosthelitizing to passers through until she was able to regain enough strength to continue their mission of spreading the word of the Light.
Kraggus proved to be just as troublesome as his birth. He was fiercly independent from a young age not at all interested in studying the glory of the Light with his parents. He would travel into the swamps around the station sometimes for days at time before returning, bringing unhealthy stress to his mother that hindered her healing. Thorga had hoped so much that their offspring would be a dwarf as deeply connected to the Light as she and her husband, Darfus. Thus, the news that the injurious pregnancy with Kraggus would prevent her from birthing any further children grew more distressing as Kraggus became further disconnected from his parents, resenting their insistance on his study of the Light.
Then a miracle. Thorga Blessedfeet found herself pregnant again as Kraggus approached adolescence. Another chance to get everything right that they thought they had gotten wrong with Kraggus. Though Thorga by this point had nearly just recovered full mobility and was eager to continue towards Refuge Point, she would again have to wait. The child in her belly sapped her of her energy and she could barely eat enough to maintain a healthy weight. Why had their family that placed their faith in the Light been cursed with such pain and suffering just for wanting a child to continue their mission? Thorga, the painful birth of Kraggus still fresh in her mind after all these years, was terrified that the miraculous child inside her might be the end of her.
Soon, Pragus Blessedfeet came into the world but he came surprisingly gently for all the trouble he had caused in the womb. The Blessedfeets were ecstatic. His mother recovered quickly and soon they were all ready to continue the mission together as a family. The night before they were to leave, however, Kraggus again disappeared into the wilderness. In the morning, his family began the journey to Refuge Point without him with young Pragus walking in between Thorga and Darfus, holding one of each of their hands in his with his arms outstretched. Kraggus watched from the bushes as they disappeared on the road to the north and spat on the ground in frustration. He would make his way to the great city of Ironforge, eventually joining the military outfit, Clan Battlehammer, taking them as the family that he never really had.
Pragus made it to Refuge Point with Thorga and Darfus. While Thorga’s mobility had returned, her stamina was not and would never be what it once was. Again, the nomadic family found itself forced to settle in as she recharged. Pragus grew to be a young adult at Refuge Point, but he lacked self-care skills, having been babied and coddled by his parents as they feared losing him to the wilderness like his brother. His studies in the Light progressed rapidly and he often used it to mend the injuries to his body that resulted from lack of standard bodily maintainence. He emits a strong body odor as he rarely bathes, chosing to rely on the Light to keep him cleansed of maladies. His continual improper use of the Light takes his toll on his body. He never develops a muscular frame like most dwarves, and instead appears lanky and malnourished save for his ale-gut.
Pragus experienced tragedy and pain like he never thought possible when his parents were murdered in front of him during a Horde raid on Refuge Point. The Point was simply overrun. The Alliance soldiers fought bravely and eventually pushed the Horde out, but there wer many casualties. Pragus survived by staying hidden behind a tree. He still feels guilt to this day for not intervening. So long he had used the Light selfishly to heal the consequences of his own lack of responsibility, and when the chance came to help others, his own parents, he fled like a coward.
Ashamed, Pragus headed for the great city of Ironforge to seek redemption for his cowardice as a soldier. As he strolled through the massive gate, Kraggus rounded the corner from the inside on his way out. The two nearly bumped into each other stepping out of the way at the last moment. Both turned to give each other a grimace and then stopped and stared as they slowly realized they were staring into the eyes of their closest kin. Kraggus demanded to know what Pragus was doing in Ironforge. Kragus still resented how much more their parents poured their affections into Pragus. He would never forget how easily they seemed to be able to leave him behind, thinking he would be happier alone in the wilderness. Kraggus had come to terms that he would never be close to his parents, but knew that deep in his dwarven heart he would always love them as they him. It just was not a love that was on display.
Upon learning from a tearful and broken Pragus of their parents’ deaths, Kraggus’ already existing hatred of the Horde that he had cultivated through battle afer battle with his newfound kin of Clan Battlehammer only grew to further extremes. He began to actively hunt Horde, even when he was off-duty. He collected orc ears and strung them up in his apartment in Ironforge, which disgusted Pragus who now lived with his older brother.
Kraggus had taken in Pragus, realizing his distressed younger brother would need to be guided towards being able to care for himself independently. What Kraggus had known from a young age, Pragus had never learned. Pragus grew and learned enough from his brother to finally live separately in his own abode in Ironforge, though his horrible habits of devouring sweets and washing them down with excessive quantities of ale remain. He eventually joined his brother in the ranks of Clan Battlehammer where he was further shaped into a more competent individual. His healing abilities from his natural aptitude for interacting with the Light and damaging abilities from connection to the Shadow (born of his shame) led to him pursuing the discipline sect of the priesthood. He is now a High Priest of Contrast balancing the extremes he has experienced throughout his life to serve the greater good.
To this day, he has never told Kraggus of his cowardice at the time fo their parents’ deaths. Kraggus does find Pragus’ devotion to a balance of Light and Shadow through priesthood to be foolish since it did not save their parents. He wishes his younger brother would commit fully to the art of Shadow to unleash further vengeance on the Horde. Pragus has saved Kraggus countless times in battle with his discipline skills, but Kraggus refuses to acknowledge this, insisting he was never in any danger every time.
