Why is the new, shiny AOTC mount just a customization option for the BFA N’zoth AOTC mount?
Don’t get me wrong, I like my bejeweled void dragon but it just seems like a copy paste of armor customization from Dragon flight that got slapped on an older, also AOTC mount. Oh yeah the saddle is different.
So not only does the Uncorrupted version lose any uniqueness it had (which wasn’t much to begin with) but the Royal version just feels unexciting. At least give the poor guy a recolor?

That’s how a bunch of AOTC mounts were since the very beginning.
Kor’kron War Wolf is just a basic WoD wolf model with different armor.

I’ll be honest I didn’t notice the similarity over how fantastic this looks as an armoured void dragon, not to mention it’s literally the same as Salhadaar’s one and looks amazing.
Armoured dragons like this are synonymous to me with the first 3 expansions of gladiator mount.

As for the new one, I like it. You know what the forum threads would be about if we weren’t getting it? They’d be all, “Why didn’t blizz make Salhadar’s mount available to players?”

My major issue with these mounts is that they simply take something already in the game, change its colour slightly, add a bit of bling and call it a new mount.
I want to see more originality and less of the deluge of mounts we are getting now. Make mounts unique again. Make them have some value due to rarity. Rather than tossing in dozens of them which are basically just reskins/recolours, give us different things even if its less frequently. It’s not like we dont a huge choice now to use.
Like the recent Lavender K’arroc or the Kah, Legend of the Deep or the Wonderwing 2.0, or any of the other clever designs. I reckon many of us with a love of art could create a whole bunch of new mounts with a few minutes work in Copilot (eg my recent Cow mount). If I can whip up a unique mount that fast, surely the designers at Blizzard can do the same. Or better.
Its different. It doesnt have this ugly saddle that ruined the entire mount in bfa for me. And it has cool armor. Actually usable now 10/10
