I’m new to warlock, pretty bad at arena, but love PvP. The meta seems a little fast for afflic, but hopefully with a little gear I won’t get one shot.
My question involves the row one talents. Drain soul seems to do good damage compares to life drain and/or shadow bolt spam. It also stacks our shadowey embrace quickly. But I don’t find myself casting it that often, and I see most locks going inevitable demise.
Which are you going? And if you go inevitable demise, what role does shadow bolt play? Are you casting it at all? Casting it for 3 stacks?

ID 100%, the others dont compare. One of the only ST burst aff has.
And no, you’ll never cast shadow bolt. Reapplying dots, casting UA , and raptures will take all your casting time. That with kicks.

Please Blizz, make Malefic Rapture apply Shadow Embrace as well. Warlocks in PvP can never apply their level 58 “spell”.
Not that you get to cast anything in Arenas anyway, but still.

To bounce off this, if you get 50 stacks and cast Soul Rot, you will essentially cleave in 3s when you DL.

First row of talents and just trash. Demise is ok, but how fast can you stack it with agony in pvp? I believe soul drain is best choise becouse of the shadowy embrace stack.
from what I have tested ID only applies to the main target.
Its one of the best burst aff has for ST
You are correct, i just feel it takes a lot to set it up and you have a chance of falling off before you use it. Too high og a chance to loose something that costs 1 talent point.
I use soul drain instead and also helps me with keeping embrace on target

Inevitable Demise when paired with Rapid Contagion you get 50 stacks regularly, both are mandatory if you’re gonna pvp as affliction.

Ok thats something i didnt know about. Im been switching back and forth between affliction and demo. I know more about demo then affliction, since rolled that spec since WoD.
ID and drain soul should just be baseline at this point. Shadowbolt feels out of place in affliction anyway and ID is so good that you will almost never want to use the other two. Perhaps drain soul for some pve but still, this stuff needs to be looked at again.

If you pick soul drain in your talents it does. I wish it was not a talent just given ability as soon you switch to affliction spec.
I tried on a few dummies, after Soul Rot they all got the super buffed drain life damage.
