Roots and slows are out of control now

Just to keep it short, there’s way too many passive roots and slows in the game at this point. TWW added quite a bit more, but it was already getting kinda bad in Dragonflight. Now it is quite awful though.

Some examples of constantly active or random/passive roots and slows:
-Frostbite in the frost mage spec tree
-Frostfire bolt from frostfire mage spec tree
-Sentinel hero tree talent (Catch Out)
-Rider of the apocalypse hero tree (Trollbane aoe Chains of Ice)
-Rogue poison
-Infected Wounds from Feral Druid spec tree
-Frost Bomb PvP talent
-Ethereal Blink PvP talent (not taken often since other talents are extremely good)
-Walloping Blow evoker class tree talent
-Throw Glaive Evoker class tree talent

There are more I’m missing, thats just a few examples. Almost all of those are up extremely often if not permanently or are just built in passively to rotations/commonly used abilities.

I dont mind roots and slows being in the game, but with the addition of the new talent trees in DF and now hero trees in TWW, it feels quite bad. I’m sure its due to ever increasing mobility or maybe its just for pve reasons, but some of these passive effects need to be toned down or just removed, especially passive roots.

Just dispel or shapeshift out of them my guy

An Enchant shaman complaining he can’t W key hard enough and pound those poor little wizard boys :flushed:

I’ll support this due to playing Priest in BGB where 90% of classes have a permanent slow they can apply. Lol

Just WOTF the slows 4head

I just want Blizzard to do it for me.

Reroll to the master race

nah has nothing to do with that, i dont really have a problem winning on enhance though obviously my spec is very slow and has outdated mobility. its more so that I just dont think the game being inundated with passive roots and slows is a good thing.

I feel the same way about the amount of roots/slows in the game now as I do about the amount of defensives, especially passive defensives in the game.

This comment made me sad. Every game it fells like, “wait up guys I have little legs.”

Neither of these are really taken (evoker glaive?)

And almost everything you listed isn’t new?

Except catch out is obnoxious tho yes, just that old auto proc root SL vampires used to have that we all moaned to get removed.

Isn’t trollbane weaker than the aoe chains that dks get?

Anyway yea the games come a long way from when ppl used to cry about frost shock needing a cd but these examples are obscure af

You’re forgetting demon hunters dot slow ability.

dont evokers have a slow attached to disintegrate

Yea

Most of those are taken, only a couple are obscure, and they were only examples of how many passive slows we have available in the game. The most egregious ones were put towards the top of the list ie sentinel hunter and mage frostbite, but DH throw glaive has built in slow, evoker has built in disint slow, etc.

Also a ton of those are pretty new or at the very least are far more accessible recently. DH throw glaive slow was introduced with DF class tree (for both specs), evoker slows/roots are obviously new since it was a new class introduced in DF, mage frostbite was moved to the spec tree so its easier to take, sentinel hunter root is new in TWW, DK aoe chains is new in TWW.
