Roll the Bones rework with combo point interaction

Not the biggest fan of the current (and mainly TWW) iteration of RtB without the current tier set. I also don’t like SnD so here’s my proposal to rework both into a workable solution that I would enjoy playing:

  1. Remove SnD (or better, make RtB replace it), make energy regen good baseline
  2. Remove 1 of the talents that increases your combo points by 1, limiting it to 6
  3. Rework RtB to instead of directly giving you the buffs, it empowers your combo points for 20s (and tweak buff duration if needed), like how Echoing Reprimand works. 1 buff in the old scenario = 1 charged CP in the new scenario, 2=2, 5=5 etc.
  4. Spending the combo point would give you the buff and if you already got it will add the duration up to a maximum of 60s
  5. Rerolling won’t overwrite an existing charged combopoint

This introduces a few new components:

  • You probably want to press RtB more often to unlock more buffs
  • You have to decide whether or not you want to reroll and risk losing buffs from a 2 or 5 roll if you get bad rolls
  • Each combo point has more value, meaning you won’t be braindead pushing generators until you have near max combo points
  • 6 combo points will hold more buffs, but you might also have to build more points to get to the one you want, where as 5 combo points will give you an easier time landing on the one you want
  • Keep it Rolling could be made to interact with combo points as well, supercharging the duration. Let’s say you have 2 combo points charged with the buffs you want to have, you press KiR, they are now supercharged and will always hit 60s instead of 30s

Of course this isn’t the full picture as things like buff durations/cooldowns/damage numbers etc would need to be tweaked, but would certainly make it more interesting than just spamming builders and spenders.

I never like playing with Echoing Reprimand, because I don’t like playing the minigame of trying to land on the right combo point and not overshoot it with crits or other combo point sources. This sounds like it would be Echoing Reprimand but instead of a long cooldown it’s something you have to put up with literally all the time, and I don’t like that at all. Outlaw Rogue is already hectic enough, it doesn’t need another spinning plate.

Don’t try. Just think of it as a free full point dispatch if you happen to land on it. You can practically ignore it and just use like it’s a 2p combo builder, it’ll still ahead of HO in M+ in terms of damage.

I think I’d prefer to have Flagellation back in its place to be perfectly honest. But idk how other outlaw players would feel about it.

You can just keep pressing RtB until all your CP are charged, and if you don’t want to play the minigame you just only spend your final 1~2 charges.

Ceiling and floor are lowered. WA will just have to highlight your valuable CP that you should hit for and you have to do 0 buff tracking yourself. You just aim for whatever is missing.

In theory their base UI can also do this already.
