Posting on my hardcore toon. I just had this thought. What if you invented a unique or thought-provoking RP story as to how your death was unavoidable?
The 60 passengers and 2 flight attendants of American Airlines Flight 5342 didnât choose to collide with a helicopter on January 29th, 2025. Similar to how you did not decide to disconnect on March 12th, from a purely logical standpoint there was nothing the passengers could have done differently to avoid the crash.
Sometimes characters can have a heart attack or something and die. Sometimes what seems like a relatively harmless stingray crits you in the chest and one-shots you against all odds. Maybe your political opponent sent a hitman to assassinate you in the streets. Maybe your character got within 6 feet of another toon by the mailbox and succumbed to the wu flu. Maybe your character won the roll on a nice item, you got mind controlled in UD strat and your jealous group member shot a couple frost bolts and cone of cold at you, murdering you on purpose in cold blood. Maybe you decided to try out a hyperbaric chamber and it catches fire with you inside, incinerating you, killing you instantly in front of your family. Maybe you got some food poisoning from some bad fish. Maybe you tripped on the bridge in Thunder Bluff and your parachute failed to open. Maybe you ate too many conjured mana biscuits and your tummy exploded. Be creative.

My character is so invincible it kept playing and defeated 2 elites while disconnected. Get on my level!
Maybe im only speaking for myself but I feel like the âIt was in the agreementâ people are missing the point. The agreement should be changed specifically for DDOS attacks.
By not acting Blizzard is endorsing DDOS attacks. Its clear that there are people who are using DOOS attacks to kill HC characters. So Blizzard has two options from what I can see.

Do what they have always done, slowly improve their anti DDOS measures (which will never fully prevent them) and maybe pursue legal measures (which they probably will never find the person in most cases)

Roll the servers back including all progress made. Id recommend a 15 min rollback and hearthing everyone and setting it on cd if there are concerns of abuse but I can hear 30 mins or an hour instead or setting a save state at some interval. At that point you can put your warning message up so people know thereâs a risk.
The goal of the DDOS of to kill players. If blizzard takes away those kills there is no point in DDOSing. By allowing them without acting you are giving one person an insane amount of power in this game.
Obviously the agreement states blizzard doesnât have to do squat but I think theyâre wrong for that. You guys are out here like âwell its legal to stab someone so what are you complaining about?â. Bro in saying it shouldnât be legal lol. The same way we change laws when theyâre stupid blizzard would change the agreement. Its good for Blizzard and the player experience.

imo, no point in having a HC server if Blizzard canât keep them stable

What are you on about? Itâs not legal to stab someone. But if you agreed to get stabbed and then after getting stabbed started crying and demanding that you get unstabbed, we would be laughing at you.
