/ROLL 100-100

The DKP thread reminded me of this.

In BC we didn't really need to use player-driven /ROLL most of the time because Need Before Greed had improved during vanilla, but every once in a while I'd see a raid group call for open rolls on something like a recipe ... and someone would try to cheat the system by typing /ROLL 100-100 hoping no one would notice amid the other rolls.

Now, in Vanilla's earliest days, the understanding I have is there wasn't a specific Need Before Greed system embedded. Either you rolled or passed. By the time I played (1.11), there were dice choices for Need, Greed, or Pass.

So, how many were in situations where someone used faked rolls like that to try to get the loot they wanted?

Is the general consensus that we want the later Need before Greed system?
LOL, how many people are going to throw conniptions because the DE option isn't there (not added until Wrath cross-realm grouping)?
While on my hunter, I jokingly did a troll roll of 99-100 on the Untamed Blade.

NO ONE NOTICED.

There was an uproar at a hunter getting that particular sword, but the raid leader was all set to give it to me; at the time, I had a massive amount of DKP.

What made it even better was that I had just been complaining that I was just going to become a melee hunter because no ranged upgrades were dropping.

I didn't take it of course. But that brief burst of reaction to "HUNTARD" was certainly entertaining and caused a bunch of copycat rolls that drove the raid leader mad.

It happened all the time but it was always a joke. We always saw what they did. In dungeons you just roll. In raids gear not needed will be given to an enchanter to DE. I don’t remember not having the roll system. Could just have been too long since then though.
It happened a lot for various mats that didn't fall into the normal rolling system.
I plead guilty, i used it soooo much ...

AND the cheat where if you space far enough in the chat, you jump a line so you can fake a chat line from someone else in the discussion to confuse everybody and create chaos ... O:)

... I know i'm a terrible person x)

I used to just /e trolls 101 (1-100)
I've done that before but only as a joke role. I remember the 1st time I did that someone had rolled a 99 so I did a 100-100 and someone on voice was like "oh wait wait!" before realizing it was a joke roll. Now if someone does a 100-100 I trump their 100 roll with a /roll 101-101.
