Role Queue is BETTER than Solo Queue

We all know how bad it feels to solo queue and find you have 0 healers. It’s even worse when you’re 10 dps vs a premade group.

However, WoW devs are rightfully concerned that creating 2 different queues will dilute the pvp scene and create high wait times for those who want to play as a premade.

Role queue is a happy middle-ground.

Role queue guarantees that pugs have a chance to fight back and even win when facing a disorganized premade.

It makes the BG more challenging for premades, and at least guarantees you won’t be farmed at the GY 100% of the time when facing a premade group.

Any other takes?

Role queue should just be the regular queue alone anyway. Nothing worse than joining a pug with 6 warriors and no priest.

yeah but, when I get in those games of 8 shamans me and a druid. its fun to pretend we are a shaman and use penance as lava burst.

Just introduce a group queue, where more than 3 grouped players, will always face each other and the problem will be solved by itself.

I’m sure premade enjoyers, will even have more fun, while seeking competitiveness, the true reason why they keep white knighting the present state of bg’s

I remember when they tried Role Que’s in Heroes of the Storm.

Took forever to get a solo Que as a DPS, they had to get go back to fastest available.

Been Playing HOTS since Alpha and 50% of solo que games are all DPS.

Retail had role queue with incentives for healers and it seemed to have worked out pretty well.

matchmaker software that prioritizes premade vs premade and solo vs solo does not require separate queues to implement.

I’ll take anything at this point.

The point is that the queue times would be too long if they separated the queues.

Like a group? Or anything blizzard will do because you won’t make a group in an MMO?

just auto lose for faster “win”, if your team looks like trash, leeeroy jenkins into mid field, die instantly and dont rez. the pain will be over under 7 minutes and you get a loser token which 3 loosers = 1 win. 21 minutes a “free win” is pretty nice compared to a 25 minute tryfest

I can totally understand this sentiment from the standpoint of someone who is only there to grind rep.

I do have to stress that many players, my self included, also go into BGs for the pvp and the experience of having a heated WSG match. I’ve lost 40 minute games that were an absolute blast!

All we need is the tool from Retail that allows you to list groups without relying on /2.

yeah, if they would just allow ashenfail to go to exalted, you would only have dedicated players that enjoy and want to have fun playing warsong. Believe it or not, I really love warsong, it was my favorite until they released alterac valley back at first release and you had 18+ hours of battle for 1 battle ground. That was AWSOME!

however warsong at “25” isnt fun, its more of a forced thing to get exalted.

Well only for premades, pug and small group queues would be fine.

And that’s because premades are terrified of fighting other premades and would stop queuing. Exact same thing as when twinks were given their own queue and it turned out they were lying about wanting competitive matchs.

Which is the exact reason why they aren’t going to implement solo queue. Hence, the need for a Role queue to serve as a compromise.

I agree with you about premades not wanting to fight premades, however, the twink community on retail died because there just weren’t enough of them to get BG Qs eventually, in wrath cata and mop they were still fine, Qs popped all day for level capped players, but during and after WoD there were a lot less people and it was killed further in legion when they changed scaling of stats and people just weren’t really that strong anymore because of gear, it was just whatever had broken low level scaling that patch.

Source: I had multiple low level twinks I played from wrath to legion and would duel and bg against other twinks exclusively.

In classic there’s no way to enforce a role queue, they can easily make separate premades from smaller groups.

This is horde in a nutshell zug zug baby

Bro didn’t suggest anything about separating queue. Just a behind-the-curtain system that curtails human agency because human agency is the problem.
