Role of the guild in PvP

I’ve been playing WoW for just over 5 years and in all that time I’ve never felt the need to join a guild (I basically did it to stop receiving spam invitations or whispers). While they have some benefits (Hearthstone, mounts, etc.), for me they are still worthless things, they are not enough to motivate me to be in a guild, To do M+ I can always create my group or join groups already created (I don’t remember the last time I went to a M+ with someone from the guild), I’m not a big fan of M+ either, I’m a purely PvP player (I LOVE IT, EVEN IF IT HAS 30MIN QUEUES). But for me it’s where I feel the uselessness of a guild the most, in pvp being in a guild practically does not give you anything. I come from a game where being in a guild was important (They had their own guild events, also a kind of mini guild city with some buildings that gave benefits to all players (minimal but important xp bonuses, luck bonuses and so on), also their own store with equipment (WoW also has it, but come on what do I do with a tabard?). In other games there were even guild battles (With server rank included) things that made me want to be in a guild and love it in addition to making good friends that although at the beginning they were complete strangers to me (With each event where the guild participated we became closer until we had true friends). But WoW has so much room for improvement for guilds and they don’t exploit it. I WANT to feel that being in a guild is worth it (I can do M+ with anyone and raid the same, not to mention that I hate PvE) The brotherhood thing is like a community with decorations because the rest is useless.

Argh, block o’ text…Hang on. Gotta parse this.

I think your point is you don’t like guilds because they don’t offer you anything. I think that’s the wrong way to look at it.

Join a guild because it’s a community of folks you like hanging out with. Sure you may raid, M+ or PvP together, but I think when a guild is like signing up to a job, and isn’t just hanging out with folks, is where one loses the plot.

I say this as Guuah is in an RP guild, and as an employee of an establishment. :stuck_out_tongue:

I think the sense of community is nice.

My sentiments exactly.

I’m in the guild I’m in to hang out with people I like. The Hearthstone buff is great, but the people are better.

We played Among Us for five hours the other night and had an absolute blast. Didn’t even have anything to do with WoW.

Finding that type of group is tough, but so so worth it. Makes logging in exciting.

Can I get a TLDR, I no longer read blocks like that.

IDK - I feel like the answer is join a pvp guild but I dont know if those even exist anymore. PVP was always an after thought, the original idea of this game never even had pvp

Tl;dr - OP wants more guild perks, doesn’t care about the social aspect.

Ahhh I was wrong, I accept that. Thank you Eryndra

You’re basically right.

Since communities exist, and are often larger than guilds, there really is no reason to be in a guild for PvP stuff.

The recruitment pool outside of guilds is simply a lot larger.

Make your guild and stick to it then.
If you don’t do group play, guilds are only useful for their perks.

They are hard to find but there are guilds that help immensly

I didn’t express my point correctly regarding the social aspect.
My complaint is that being in a guild doesn’t make sense to me. Everything you do in a guild I can do with any group. There are no activities that only a guild offers. Do I want to do M+? I have the group finder, or I can just set up my group and wait for people to arrive. Do I want to raid? Can I search for raid groups in the search engine? Do I want to do PvP? (I can also sign up for a battleground). Aside from that, a guild doesn’t offer any other activities. It’s like being in any other community with a few perks (hearthstone, instant mail, 10% mount speed). Otherwise, it’s just another community.

Why isn’t there something like guild battles? In PvP, that’s the case.
As for guild contributions?
I can donate 10k gold, for example. But what benefit do I get from those 10k if I don’t do mythic quests or raids?
That gold is managed by the guild leader. Because there’s no such thing as “Guild Points” that I can use to buy things in a guild shop. For example, donating 10k gold to my guild and in return receiving 10k guild points, which I can use to buy things in the guild shop, or having the option to purchase a slot in the guild bank—not the public guild bank, but rather a private bank. Things like that, or even my donations being used for something useful, for example, my 10k being used to improve the guild’s facilities or buildings (if they exist). If we take into account the social aspect, being in a guild doesn’t provide new activities or benefits, much less generate the desire to be in one.
The guild itself doesn’t offer activities that can only be obtained by being in one.
