Rogues offer literally nothing to the table in groups.
Rogues can’t tank and Rogues can’t heal. The same is said for Hunters and Mages who are strictly, however they bring to the table Bloodlust/TimeWarp to incentivize party leaders to grab them.
Rogues? Nothing. Just melee DPS that has a highest chance to die to cleave mechanics.
Warlocks who are also strictly DPS can help provide Healthstones/Soulstones & summoning. At least it’s SOMETHING.
Rogues need the party CD reduction talent back, or Bloodlust, or SOMETHING that makes them worthwhile to pick. As it stands for now Rogues are just generic DPS that can be overlooked for any other class utility.
Some passive utility is fine. Maybe a passive debuff like Monk has but instead it decreases the target’s armor by a %? (We used to have expose armor, after all.) As long as whatever is added doesn’t require my attention.
I admit that Rogue doesn’t really bring anything extra where all other DPS’s could… But I also don’t think bringing something extra is necessary in the first place. Plus everyone has Bloodlust. Adding it to Rogue just devalues it for other classes even more.
People never notice what we bring to the table. Silences and stuns on multiple targets, damage reduction with Iron Wire, 2 minute long cc’s, and a solid interrupt. But people no longer see care about these things. All anyone ever sees is numbers. When it comes to dps there are many other classes that do it better and yes, have party utility such as lust, stones, and such. It’s why Rogues were the least played class in S3 of M+. Why take a Rogue when Hunters, Locks, and Monks brought so much more to the table. Even in my own 20’s I would not take another Rogue. It’s not anyone’s fault but Blizz for poor balancing and lack of meaningful tuning.
They tried to give us raid buffs with Outlaw giving CDR to everyone. It was quickly removed though because… idk… I don’t play Outlaw not do I ever plan to, but it’s just dumb.
Its definitely not all on Blizz. Half the rogue community violently objects to any changes at all. We see it time and time again. Just look at Sin having its main cd swapped from Vendetta to Deathmark. Its objectively better in its funtionality, yet instead of fixing the few issues it has (which Blizz eventually did do) half of the rogues were calling for it to be removed entirely.
I say give us a party 10% dmg buff. And it should stack! Both DPS, HPS etc. Also make it so that once we have 5 rogues in our party. The 5th one automatically promotes into a 100% threat, evasion tank. And the other 4 rogues get like a super HPS stack on their Crimson Vial.
Lolwhat? Rogue has one of the highest survivability of all the melee specs.
Melee should be behind the boss at all times anyway.
As far as utility goes, shroud can be super useful in keys, not so much in raid. And they technically have two immunities if you count cheat death as one.
I’m not a rogue but was contemplating playing one as I did many years ago. It’s amusing seeing someone ask for more sorry utility and the comments shooting it down. Unless more is offered they won’t be bailed as other classes.
I really wish Blizzard would explain why they deny rogues a good raid utility. Something that will encourage raid leaders to choose a rogue vs any other class.
They removed it because the interaction was apparently mathing out to be insane and would have killed mut and sub on arrival as well as requiring outlaw stacking for world first at least. I did not get to test it out myself.
Atrophic poison is looking like a nifty little offering to the party comp though.
I guess I must have missed the post somewhere. Where is there a Blue post rule stating only classes played are allowed to post in their perspective forums?
Also, the irony of giving someone else a link to the Hunter forums while they’re talking about the Rogue class followed by “since reading seems to be hard”
