Rogues in WSG

How do all of you feel when you get 3+ rogues on your team in WSG?

While I know good rogues are amazing to have around and I’m sure healers hate them with a passion I find they pretty much throw the game more often than not by not knowing when to engage. They wait around too long in stealth so it’s a 7/10 and the enemy team gets to focus targets with less effort and coordination. Then they either jump in too late and die when nearly everyone else already died or just sit stealth the whole time as the fight is unwinnable at that point.

I’ve pretty much always felt this way in all versions of WoW and with every single wsg other than 1 I played today having 3 rogues on my team I was reminded of how bad it can be. :face_with_head_bandage:

Are there any other classes/specs people find are bad to stack like that?

I think the major issue right now is that Rogues are seriously lacking in their overall kit.

I expect this to change drastically in phase 2 and going forward from there.

edit: to expand a bit, since rogues are missing so many tools they are increasingly cautious of when they “make and appearance” as we get more tools and access to more talents to help lower cooldowns on some of those tools you will see rogues be much more likely to take bigger risks.

Yes, rogues are terrible in the mid team fights and get even worse 40+ when warriors blow them up in a global or two. The main thing they are good at is ganking the FC with a hunter.

I lost count of the number of times my courage was bolstered by a bunch of friendly dots on the map in the immediate vicinity, only to realize, after a quick visual check of the field, there were almost zero visible corresponding players. And so then I, too, go into stealth, but not before briefly patting the warrior on the back and telling him we’re all counting on him.

When Rogues have their full kit at their disposal, a Warrior will never have a chance provided equal skill level.

There’s good and bad in every class. Some people just refuse to learn their roles in BGs. Which is crazy to me, cause playing objectives in WSG the way your class should almost opens up a whole new game to learn. Especially playing a rogue in WSG! You always hear people say Rogues are easy to play. Which technically is true, but they hard to master, and require a high skill cap to play correctly.

Flag defense.

Agreed. They are missing a ton of CC atm.

3 ain’t bad, I hate it when I get 5-7+

Yes, I have had a game with 7 rouges, we somehow won which blew my mind.

That’s only at higher skill levels.
The majority of rogues do not know how to properly fight a Warrior, and it has very little room for error, one small mistake and the Rogue is in the ground. But when done right there’s nothing a Warrior can do.

Average Warriors counter average Rogues very hard.

But good Rogues absolutely dumpster good Warriors.

Rogues should be Flag watches in WSG… If the enemy gets the flag they should be the ones hunting the flag down.

With 3… you rarely should get your flag taken… if it does then you should get it back pretty easy…

You people cry about premades but then you also cry about solo Q. Some of you people will literally never actually enjoy the game, lol.

3 Rogue is fine in pug BG as long as they not all dumb AF.

They can be a roaming Priest deleter squad, They can setup and kill EFC ez with 3 saps and all open 1 target.

Some games you get the Rogues who are scared to do anything so you fight 7v3 until you get pushed back to GY and get camped but I mean its the same as 3 dumb Shadow Priests or Ret pallys who refuse to dispel or freedom/bop teamates.

TLDR comp not the issue in random BG 99% of the time its just dumb people.

Rogues are awesome, weekend rogue alts? oof. People who play rogues exclusively? Crazy crazy crazy.

Rogues are fine. PUGs are are lot like a box of chocolates. “you never know what your gonna get” -Gump

Too bad BGs aren’t 1v1s. The guy you were responding too was absolutely correct - a properly balanced group with warriors will shred a team with rogues. Rogues are a great 1v1 class, but they just aren’t a good BG class.

My comment about Rogue vs Warrior was specifically about 1v1, my other comment addressed the OP. I have the ability to talk about multiple scenarios at the same time.

I’ve had much success playing tank spec in WSG. You pretty much win any 1v1 or 1v2 against other melee/hunters. If you have a healer, even better.

Your time to kill isn’t high but neither will your opponents’ which is hilarious against hunters because most in SoD don’t know how to PvP at all if their pet doesn’t auto delete their target.

IMO, tank rogues got slept on pretty hard in P1… I really wish dual spec was in because respecing back and forth really sucks.

I’m not really complaining about pugs, bad comps happen I don’t mind unless it’s like every single game when you are playing a good number of them, then it gets a little frustrating lol. Gotta have a good game from time to time!

I will enjoy premades more next phase as you won’t be pug stomping the majority of the time and get to fight actual groups. I play WoW for the fun of PvP, just not when it’s too try hard. I only enjoy the grind in PvE so when BG’s are really just rep farms that kinda ruins it for me.

I’ve just noticed an insane number of Alliance rogues recently that have flooded WSG without knowing how to take advantage of the class, I find it kinda odd. Very few casters and paladins too.

What surprises me the most is the number of rogues I have seen, I was expecting less of them alliance side as Orc racial is such a good advantage to have versus them and that normally pushes rogues to go horde side.
