Rogues in Torghast

Have really been enjoying Shadowlands so far, pvp feels great, the dungeons are cool, covenants are interesting and so forth. However, one of the main things I’ve been struggling to enjoy is Torghast. I was really excited for it pre Shadowlands watching beta content on it. and I truly believe if I was playing a different class right now I WOULD be. However, I play a rogue, and the anima powers that rogues get are absolutely not good enough compared to other classes. I ran a four man tier three the other day and a DK crit the boss for 293 K with Frostchipper. The final bosses are so insanely difficult to solo as a rogue unless you go to the auction house and buy a horde of pots to help, we have crimson vial, and evasion, other than that no defensives and vanish will just reset the bosses health. a 300k health boss fight that continously chunks your health into the ground is a nightmare for a rogue. Running through and destroying every floor until the final and then it’s like I have absolutely no chance against the Final boss.
Just wondering if any other rogues are feeling the same way or if there are better strategies. Btw my rogue is a 170 Ilvl

So far I had no problem in Torghast as assassination Rogue, buffs are really powerful, specially Jack of all trades combined with infinite Echoing Reprimand with 20cp finishers, doing about 50k envenoms back to back.

I’ve been running Sub so perhaps that is the reason

It’s 100% Assassination rogue. I’ve ran Torghast numerous times and can say that I’ve NEVER got a Anima that would allow me to do 50k dmg with envenom. It’s big time RNG for us. If you don’t have a few decent Anima’s by the time you get to the boss, you might as well exit. I was able to do the first 2 floors fine however, the 3rd I also needed help with as I was falling short by about 20-30% health on the boss. I suppose if I got Infinite Echoing Reprimand it would’ve been fairly easy.

I will also say it’s 100% easier for most other classes. Assassination is bottom of the barrel as far as melee are concerned in this expansion, if not close to it…

This is a pic from the last boss of a torghast lvl 3:

Sadly I just took a picture of that boss, not the whole run.

Also, theres another op anima power, life steal, 10% life steal on a high chance.

Rogues are really gimped in Torgast, you’re not alone. Anyone who says they roflstomp layer 3 no problem got lucky with anima powers, simple as that man

Well, I never tried as Sub, but as Outlaw it was way harder then Sin, one thing that makes Sin much better imo is the ability to kite most mobs.

And on all of my runs, I never had a problem with buffs, usually had plenty of them, just one of the runs I stunbled on a boss that was doing a 10k cast every other second, can’t remember his name, that one is the only one that I couldn’t kill so far.

I’ve ran layer 3 multiple times and roflstomped it every time with sub and never lost a torghast or even came close to losing one…

Got any proof to back that up? I also have 2 lambos sitting in my driveway, not that hard to get, just make more money

I spent all of week 1 telling people to just take it slow, gather power, and Torghast is a cinch. This week I got my a$s beat by an ooze boss. :woman_shrugging:

I mean I can easily stream it if you like. layer 3 torghast is a complete joke…

Do I think rogues have it harder than most classes? Yeah probably. Is it impossible? No. Is it even hard at layer 3? No.

Will it get hard after layer 3? Probably yeah.

I’d low key like to see video of this yes, so i can see what powers you got lucky RNG on, cause i truly don’t believe rogues are slaying layer 3 without getting lucky powers.

I feel you - I’m stuck and the last boss in layer 3

I really don’t want to re-roll from Sin to Sub

it is all based on your rng tbh i cleared lvl 3 easymode but i rngd a power that healed 2% max hp every second when your moving. then with sub stuns its ezgame to heal up by running around target.

edit: simiarly i cleared the other one by stacking -5 second cooldown on vial.

edit: there is a def conduit that heals u % over your slice and dice duration i have that too. (23.4% max hp over 36 seconds) combined with vial add in a few healing anima powers like reduced cd on vial or what have you and your in good shape.

You got a conduit that only drops from the upcoming raid? Man you gotta tell me where you got it!

Sin - All poison buffs and great damage goodies.

Outlaw - GOOD NEWS!! We are going to give you a buff attached to a button you hardly ever use (or won’t need for the boss)… Maybe some health stuff… and ohh yeah some currency to buy stuff off the vender who has nothing for you but more stuff attached to buttons you never use!

it’s pretty hard to die in torghast if you are good at playing this class and know what powers to keep.

Play sub, take soothing darkness and pick the right anima powers and you will crush any floor

The build I currently run to destroy torghast is 2-3-3-1-3-3-1. I run the same as my pvp build except I take shadow focus instead of nightstalker. Honestly though, Nightstalker is better in some situations probably but I think shadow focus is better when you’re dropping multiple dances in a row non-stop on the last boss.

I’ll try to carve out some time to stream the layers if I can. I still have to run my M0s for the week. People saying you have to ‘get lucky’ are just flat out wrong unless I ‘get lucky’ every single run ever.

I’d argue that I’d have to get extremely unlucky to not be able to win. I don’t even know if it’s possible. I could possibly win just from the stat bonuses on souls alone but maybe not on all bosses.

i got it from the daily quest reward for cov i also got the 5% crit one with symbols from them too the one where u have to open an epic box i think it was for doing world quests in another zone with a follower.

You definitely did not
