Rogues in classic

How do rogues learn to use Swords in Vanilla? is it in the skill tree or some NPC?

Every class starts with some weapons skills not sure what each class starts with by default.

You learn the rest at a weapon master then grind them up by missing boars, or one of those mobs out in blasted lands that cannot die.

I’m pretty sure every rogue starts with daggers, since they get backstab prior to 10.

Classes start with certain weapon skills but there are weapon masters in cities that teach weapon skills.

I think swords were learned in Stormwind and Undercity. Could be wrong about Undercity.

Edit: found this… blocked out the BC ones

How you learn everything excluding daggers / thrown if I remember right (rogue)

Weapon masters in each capitol city have different skills. SW / UC / Org / etc…eac have different skills with swords, dagger, crossbow, thrown, staff…w/e.
The WM in each city will know a skill they other cities dont know, which means you have to go to all of them.
@Xoja - Yeah, that list

You have to learn how to use them by npc.

General rule for Horde is sword in UC.

Mace in TB. And Axe in Org (though that only applies to other melee, rogue in OG couldn’t use axes).

Guns, bows, and xbows I always forget…
I want to say guns where UC, but not positive

Staves I’m pretty sure where thunder bluff.

OMG I forgot about that, it was so cool when I first learned that I had to travel to a specific weapon master to teach me the art of whatever weapon I wanted to use.

I also liked that class trainers taught things like Dual Wield

In major cities there are npcs in them you need to go to learn.
Shaman 2h was a skill tree ability though.

It usually depended on race and class on what you get at the start I think, then you have to feel the holes by paying npcs to teach you swordmanship.

Woo ping in stormwind trains swords
