Rogues, does your professions matter in todays game?

I recently came back to WoW and as I’ve started TWW one of the first things they have you do is talk to a profession trainer. This character was a Leather Worker / Skinning and I got thinking that in the past once you got into an xpac the value of these professions quickly became unprofitable. In the past any new characters I made I just picked up herb/alch because they always made money and were valuable thought an xpac.

So I thought if I want to switch things up now is the time. Well, to my surprise Blizz really seemed to revamp things and now I have no idea what is going on. Most of the professions videos talk about “artisans acuity”, yet they don’t explain it at all or what it does, or why it’s valuable/important.

So what is artisans acuity? And would it just be best to drop leather working / skinning and go herb/alch, herb/inscription, or just pick up enchanting and something else ETC? What would you suggest?

No matter what class I am I always go double gathering, just buy my way into gear with all the bank I make.

Alchemy gives you double flask duration. So, that’s nice.

Professions dont matter too much when it comes to the class other than maybe the convenience of crafting your gear.

I would say its more dependent on the race since certain races have perks that make it easier, like Lightforged being able to summon an anvil and such.

But when it comes to what i would use on a main, Alchemy and Engineering are the top options due to overall convenience, specially Alchemy.

Still rolling with engineering and mining.

Make enough with just mining. Engineering doesn’t matter but it’s fun.

Jeeves, Moll-e, Jumper Cables, Speed and Stat Grenades, Parachute cloak, rocket boost, and the toys for race changing keep me around.

For me not really but that is by choice. If wanted professions to matter as a Rogue I would pick up engineering.
