Rogue weapon question

Havent played a rogue in forever, I have a sword with 2.1 speed 22.1 dps and 32-61 damage as well as a dagger with 1.4 speed 26-49 damage but dps is 26.8 which one would be best to keep in my main hand?
Thanks

the slower one.

Your abilities do weapon damage + extra, or a percentage increase to weapon damage. Higher damage means more damaging abilities.

The higher damage weapon (typically slower) always goes in the main hand, and a fast weapon goes in the offhand. You want a fast offhand for poison procs.

For combat, the slowest mainhand possible unless you have Thunderfury. Really the same rule if you run daggers actually. Shanker pretty much destroys every other dagger in the game.

As I recall slow hard-hitting main hand… quick offhand for poison application.

well, not necessarily the slower one, but the one with the higher attack damage, which may often be slower

Only hitting power matters for MH. But you can’t backstab from front, so you’re going to use sword regardless. In 2nd hand, just slot whatever is highest DPS.

Most rogues will NEVER get a thunderfury, so I’m not sure why you’d bring that up, as if it’s a common occurrence. You’ll be able to count with less than 1 hand the number of rogues allowed to get a thunderfury on a realm. Last time around when I played, horde had no known rogues with this sword. Alliance had at least 2, both in top guilds with max progression. (They were humans too, naturally)

sword in mh, dagger in oh.
basically you want a fast weapon in oh for poison application purposes really because your abilities (sinister strike for example) don’t hit with offhand (as far as I know?), and are based off your mainhand damage

Thanks yall
