So a rogue thought hit me as I was trying to sleep. And since I have to live with it taking up space in my head, so do all of you.
We know that Imp-Mothers produce Imps. We know Imps are explosive. We know Warlocks don’t particularly care about their Demons, for the most part, and that Imps have traditionally been the Aloha Snackbar units the Legion uses to soften up a target or location, both because Imps outnumber every other kind of Demon 50-to-1, and because they’re so easy to replace that the Legion doesn’t even bother attempting to revive them when they die.
Bilescourge are Demonic ‘parasites’ we found in the Legion Expansion that were specifically cultivated by the Legion on Argus to both consume unnecessary biomass, and as bio-weapons to unleash on the battlefield to lower morale to opposing Mortal armies.
Warlocks are basically opening a portal into a swarm of the adult-stage version of this demonic insect and hurling them at their target, where the Bilescourge Demons explode into Fel-tainted gore on their targets because, you know, squishy insects.
My brain decided that sleep was for the weak and the normal, and asked if there was a stage in the planning of Legion Warlocks where Bilescourge were replaced with just straight up Imps, and the Spell “Bilescourge Bombers” was once called Imp Barrage or something else that was stupid.
And it was just the Warlock opening a portal, and on the other side, there was an Imp Mother seated in her pool, gets the signal and then starts straining, and that’s how the spell worked, the enemy would look up, see the mechanics at play, go as they start getting bombed by exploding, giggling demonic infants.
Anyways, I’m gonna try to sleep again so I can function tomorrow, may the mental image of how this would work eat at your mind’s eye as they did mine.
G’night everybody!
