I don’t know if anyone has seen any news regarding the rogue T9 2 set, but it’s absolutely the worst 2 set in the game at the moment. Most classes got something out of their 2 set that changed up their play style or atleast added to their class in terms of DPS or output. Rogues 2 set is a 2% chance to proc 40 energy WITH A 15 SECOND INTERNAL CD. The only specs that make use of it are rupture mut, sub PvE (nobody plays this) and combat. Rupture mut doesn’t even sound appetizing because of the proc chance, and because of the itemization of T9 tier, if you’re any other spec than combat, you basically are looking at almost downgrades going from 252 ulduar loot to 258 tier unless you have a surplus of loot to work around the loss of T8 2 set to balance out the actual useful 2 set from last patch. It makes the gearing and reward process around receiving tier feel empty and as a whole kind of makes this raid tier depressing as a rogue player. Our 4 set doesn’t even add any additional flavor as it’s just a static crit buff with almost no class fantasy or flavor to it. I would love to see blizzard just up the proc chance to something closer to 10% so that you can see clearcasting more than a whopping 6 TIMES between all of ToGC, and a full Ulduar clear. Would love for my fellow rogues to comment on this so blizzard sees this. I just want my class to feel fun while we are stuck in the catch-up raid for 4 months.
Tier 9 looks cooler, so it’s better by default.
2 of your classes 3 specs are in the top 7 of all class and specs for dps, and your third spec is one of the top 3 for arena. ToGC will be one of the shorter raid tiers and everyone is going to get full BiS from it in no time.

This isn’t something that would be game changing for either spec really, it would just make the 2 set feel like it actually exists…
Even for combat the 2 set proc chance is really terrible…
For my togc + uld skip + ony last night it procc’d a total of 16 times
In the same time window our UH DK procc’d his 2 set a total of 44 times
and the other UH dk procc’d 77 times that was sometimes blood tank
im not familar enough w/ other classes 2 sets to check more but yea
16 is CRAZY procs, never seen anywhere near that many.
Tier is a stat stick to us.
Really where we benefit this raid is how little so much of our gear is contested. Pants/legs/weapons are basically ours. We won’t/shouldn’t see a trinket but a ton of our gear is easy to get. Where as regalia is heavily contested.

Seems like poor design back in the day. The chance is too small and the energy return is too much. Would have been better something like 15% chance to return 5 energy.
Have you seen holy paladins? Theirs is 10 seconds more on judgement of light. It’s total trash

I dunno if this is the argument you’re trying to make it out to be. It sounds like you’re playing the 1 spec that doesn’t utilize the set bonus from this.
At which point, just go 0 set and be happy you can upgrade to t10 easily?
The primary issue is blizz really screwed the pooch increasing the item levels in Ulduar. It makes gearing incredibly awkward and unrewarding if you were clearing HM content. That being said, our ToC Tier somehow manages to feel worse than only getting Energy Regeneration from the old 2 piece lol.

Okay, so I looked at all of the tier sets, and I don’t see any 2 set bonus that changes play style, except for rogue.
Everyone’s 2 set is your main dot can now crit, your main filler does 5% more damage, your heal does x% more, or your ability can proc an effect that increases your main stat.
Rogue having a proc chance to reduce the energy chance of your next ability is the only thing that can really make you have to make snap decisions on how you want to spend that bonus energy. In reality, it just lets you spam your filler a bit more, but maybe you might choose a more expensive filler than a cheaper one.
Hmm. I recently leveled a priest and found it refreshing that I could use T8 for disc and not have to go for T9 this tier.

I use the rupture mut spec, I articulated the argument poorly. It’s unsatisfying regardless of the spec you are running lmao
