Why does stealth constantly fail on my rogue?
This has been an issue for a long time, but now seems worse than ever.
I am continually being knocked out of stealth, while nobody else is around, no buffs/debuffs are in effect.
It seems to be most prevalent in the “pvp” areas in dragonflight, but has always been an issue, just not to this extent.
What is causing this? and why has it not been fixed.
Searching for other examples of the issue proves this has been ongoing for some time, and a lot of people have provided “tips and tricks” to avoid it happening…
Most of which don’t help, but it raises my next question.
Why has this become a “Player Problem”? It is clearly an issue to do with the coding used to provide a rogue’s stealth, it is a DEVELOPER problem, not a PLAYER problem. Fix it.

I feel like it’s a buff that triggers your stealth break. I don’t know which or if it’s even that but it’s incredibly annoying to pull by accident and get yelled at.

I noticed at the very edge of a couple world quest circles in Ohn Plains zone, standing there at the edge using the mini map it’ll continually drop.
Probably Demon Hunters if you’re primarily encountering it in the PvP areas.
They’re everywhere now. It’s crazy how broken that class was at the start of the expansion. After all the nerfs and all the crying they’re still probably the #1 M+ DPS and extremely deadly in PvP while being fairly hard to kill.
No it’s not dh. That’d be a bit obvious when looking at combat logs and you see a dh hitting you lol. I believe its conduits that are now talents bugging out. People can fly over me on a flight path and it breaks stealth. I was in a group to run Brackenhide and was stealth hanging out in the tuskar village and a druid and priest in the group both flew over me on the flight path and it broke my stealth within 15 seconds. Combat log showed nothing.

as a rogue main for over the years, I am not having this issue.
They removed our vanish shield unless you spec into it in the sub tree. If you are failing vanishes, it is because you have dots or you get hit by aoe.
I know it seems annoying to hear and I don’t mean for it to be… but if you are Outlaw or Assassination - it is harder to get successful vanishes
it is not bugged, at least I have never experienced this bug and I only play rogue pvp 
They are ALSO world quests where you have to kill an NPC
Those NPCs are designed to purposely get you out of stealth periodically … that is intended,
The pvp bosses purposely cast an ability that causes this. If that is what you are referring to.
Read your combat log, it is not a bug.
I’ve been having this happen as well. I’ve noticed it’s when I get honor at times. Any other reasons Im not sure. There will be zero players around me while I’m in a bg and stealth will just drop… for no reason. Definitely a bug.

I notced while doing a pvp world quest i would be kicked out of stealth every so often. It also happens around airdrops.

i don’t pvp. it’s been happening to me in keys for the last day or two. i’ve never had this issue previously. i’m not doing anything differently.

Hey man, thanks for taking the time to explain those things, but that is not the issue I am complaining about.
Vanish is what Vanish is… I understand that.
The issue is stealth. Sometimes, and for no apparent reason, it just deactivates.
DH’s can see through stealth, I am well aware of that, As I am with the fact that Dot’s will break vanish. But this is not what I am talking about.
I am talking about being out of combat, sitting there stealthed, when suddenly it breaks for no reason. Nothing attacking you, No buffs/debuffs in effect, it just drops. You can just stealth up again right away, so there was no combat or hostiles preventing it.
It seems most prevalent when people are loading in/out of an area. As such world PvP zones seem to be the most likely place for it to occur, followed by battlegrounds. In arena’s it rarely happens, but sometimes will. It also happens while questing, but I suspect that is due to people flying around overhead.
I suspect it may be due to people entering/exiting a zone and there being some sort of slight lag issue that drops stealth/forgets it was active.
The amount of times I have gone in to attack a hostile player, only to have stealth break as I approach them, (With no buffs/debuffs in effect, No AOE attacks being used, no traps in place etc etc) is just unacceptable.

Some trinkets or items can break it although I don’t have the list.

When I was leveling my NE Rogue, I was in an AV in a Bunker and there was a huge battle right outside and I just kept getting taken out of Stealth. Pop out and then go back in over and over. Lmao

i was in a mythic brackenhide group standing before the first boss, out of combat, no activity going on. myself and the other rogue in the party would activate stealth and immediately de-stealth a second later. over and over, just standing there, NOTHING else going on. no debuffs, dots, nothing

Yep, having the same issue. Running around stealthed in Feral spec and get pulled out of stealth if I run near a player or if a player summons their dragon near me.
Was just experiencing this. Not sure if it was part of the quest, but running a rogue alt going after the Outlaw artifact and was randomly getting bounced in the air and stealth was breaking.
It happens less than it used to, but I find it absolutely infuriating that there are things that can pull you out of stealth without being recorded in the combat log.
I feel like if no game code was allowed to break stealth without a corresponding combat log entry, these bugs would happen much less.
Grappling hook is breaking stealth on me. This didn’t happen in SL
It’s due to Subterfuge, I believe. If you spec out of that, you should be good. But, do sacrifice not having Subterfuge.

Correct, Subterfuge breaks stealth when using the Grappling Hook.
