I’m leveling one now and I’ve done some looking around and can’t find a real answer or one that I’m sure of. But what spec would you guys recommend for maybe just casual mythic plus pushing and raiding. Or does it not really matter til you get to higher stuff. Been leveling assassination but see a lot about outlaw too so I’m confused lolol.
Casual m+ (like 15s) and heroic raid(aotc) can play whichever one you want tbh , they will all do decent or better .
Outlaw is king for m+
Sin is king for raiding
Sub is king for being able to do both without needing to switch much around
Ahh That’s what I had seen. Wasn’t sure if there was a spec that holds solid ground without having to switch too much. Specially with the covenants
I am OL and I love it, but I mostly do M+
I tried Sin and wasn’t fan of it. Though I can see how it is a great spec for raids.
Never tried sub
If you are good and put in some effort outlaw will be the best overall spec but it’s not easy to play.
If you are just yoloing and trying to casually get by with a good enough performance without much research or effort involved then play sub.
Playing sin in keys is cancer so I would avoid that.
I played assassination for quite a long number of years…but recently switched to sub. I really enjoy the flow.
All 3 specs are very good for mythic plus and raid. Assassination is probably the easiest spec to play and actually really solid in mythic plus. Don’t outlaw players scare you off its extremely competitive in mythic plus. Subtlety appears to be the best performing spec for both mythic+ and raids. It is also probably the most punishing spec in the game because if you mess up your shadow dance and can’t really get much use of it you will further prolong your next shadow dance. Outlaw will probably give the best results for mythic+ to an inexperienced rogue and assassination will be the best results in raid for an inexperienced rogue. If you are confident that you will skill cap quick I would go subtlety though
Lol.
Outlaw is the easiest of the specs to play because you don’t have to time anything. You literally mash buttons.
for me its outlaw rogue but only because its the underdog spec in pvp which makes it more fun to play randoms with
Snoz don’t even start. When outlaw was good you were unable to play it and instead sat on a majorly underperforming sin advocating against slice and dice refresh. Even after the buff your performances were subpar and you ran away to play warlock. It seems you couldn’t make it as a warlock either and are playing mage now?
Outlaw is the highest APM spec in the game with several low cooldown abilities that need to be prioritized correctly in real time while accounting for restless blades and dice rolls which depending on buff and duration will dynamically change the rotation. Pair that with energy levels and amount of combo points changing the prioritization of your builders constantly. On top of needing to maintain two debuffs on the target.
Sub is a two button spec where the only rules are to always have a shadow dance ready for symbols and have symbols + a dance charge for shadow blades. Other than that you use two buttons with an occasional slice refresh / rupture refresh. The most complicated part of this spec is to make your guild stop prepulling before the countdown is over so you can spam your cheese deathly shadows exploit macro in time.
Sin is probably tied with sub in difficulty on a single target. You basically pool energy (read: dead globals) while keeping two bleeds up and spam envenom during shiv.
That is literally it on sin and sub. There are no dynamics, there are no small efficiencies. You do these things and you parse 99s with appropriate gear.
False. I can play outlaw just fine. I just don’t enjoy it. I also didn’t enjoy playing a high APM class on 100+ MS.
I started CN as sub and mostly played sub.
I swapped to warlock due to rogues lacking a raid CD and easier to find a spot in a raid team mid tier as a warlock.
I didn’t fail at warlock either and maintain very solid parses.
Never said outlaw wasn’t a high APM spec. I just said it’s the easier of the three specs to play properly probably tied with sin as far as ease goes.
Your logs did and still do say otherwise. You literally parsed a 28 as outlaw on your rogue on heroic sire without dying. How is it possible to parse a 28 (35% ilvl) while being alive the whole fight if you are playing an easy spec that you can play well? Don’t try to snoz your way out of this one.
I literally already explained that for you.
Trying to play outlaw on 100+ MS is an issue.
Also I was never able to get any weapons over 213 until SoD.
Reading comprehension is hard apparently.
I play on over 100 ms. Lol.
It also doesn’t explain how even based on ilvl you parsed extremely poorly on multiple fights as outlaw. You were ilvl213 for the sire fight so the argument of you didn’t have higher than 213 weapons is invalid.
Your crap may work on most the plebs in here but it wont work on people who actually know how to check these things. Stop wasting our time.
Are you used to playing at 35 MS? Didn’t think so.
No it’s not. I was being pitted against people with 226 weapons.
Sure thing. Hate to hurt your apparent fragile ego
Yes before I xferred. My old name was Bertha and this new server my guild went to is laggy for me.
No excuse my alt warrior in 213 ilvl weapons was constantly getting #1 ranked ilvl parses. I think I have around 8-10 100% ilvl parses spaced out on the difficulties. You just suck.
I feel the pain. It’s why I refuse to play anything but central or eastern now.
My rogue is still getting strong ilvl parses. I just don’t enjoy outlaw.
You’re gray, green, and some blue parsing on your rogue right now. That isn’t strong. By definition that is mediocre. Listen I’m not trying to $hit on you. I only bring them into the conversation to validate or invalidate insubstantial claims.
That’s fine, hate outlaw. Tell people how much you hate outlaw. Make a fanclub of it. But when it comes to the difficulty and subtle nuances of the spec perhaps have some credentials when attacking people about it.
My rogues ilvl parses are purple and orange lol.
Unless you’re counting the drunken heroic shenanigans that is my guilds alt run.
I don’t hate outlaw. I just hate rtb.
I also never attacked anyone over it.
