Rogue Runes and Poisons: Phase 3

HAT will produce a shocking amount of free combo points.

Rupture isnt just Rupture tho, w/ Carnage its a 20% steroid and as such, yes its def worth it.

My entie point is that we’re confined to one weapon type and one ability for two phases and that stinks.

That fist set is going to be huge, if anythign edges out mut it would be that set.

Right… or you could not bother with Rupture at all because more Envenoms are better. The fist set OH specifically makes Nature damage stronger and the MH gets a bonus weapon swing proc.

I just don’t see us using daggers at all if HAT provides us with so many CP.

It really comes down to 20% bonus damage vs way more Envenoms.

Yeah like i said above if anything pushes ahead of MUT its most likely only going to be those fist weapons and you would need the set.

Also to note that as MUT rupture is free at 5cps.

  1. Last I understood, it does not stack with Sunder Armor (I am not positive about this). I am almost positive it doesn’t stack with Homonculi debuffs, so I would be surprised if it stacks with Sunder Armor. At one point, I know they did not. I am not sure whether that remains true in Classic and google wasn’t my friend today LOL.

  2. This assumes I want to use EA at all. I don’t. It lowers my output and there isn’t any way around that with the skill.

  3. So saying “I don’t have to use EA since I can just use the poison” makes the assumption that I was using EA which I most assuredly am not if at all possible.

  4. It isn’t theoretical that having a sharpening stone on my OH will increase my personal output more than having non damaging debuff adding poison to my off hand. Now whether the RAID benefits enough in the aggregate that they want a rogue to perform that task is a different matter. For personal dps, this is not in dispute.

My understanding is that throughout Classic, EA stacked with Sunder along with CoR and FF, which allowed us to just ignore Armor entirely. If that was changed in SoM or SoD, I wouldn’t know, I haven’t paid it that close attention because of 10man limits and whatnot.

So assuming IEA actually functions as it did, that much armor peeled off the boss is massive amounts of percentage damage to you and everyone else in the Raid. It would be easiest and best for a Tank Rogue to apply it, but it could be brought by a DPS Rogue easily. So unless there is a 2nd Rogue in the raid, it absolutely needs to be brought, and even in a completely melee unfriendly setup, I really don’t think that kind of ArP loss is worth it.

With HAT though, the CP deficit doesn’t really exist, so its probably ideal to run IEA and just manually apply without the poison.

That being said: If IEA doesn’t stack with Sunder and other sources… this is all moot and the poisons are just QoL for weirdly stacked groups.

HaT does not refresh both SnD and Blade Dance at the same time, only the one with lower duration remaining. Unfair advantage looks better for AOE tanking, dungeons, multi pulls and PVP.

Or, get this, contrast the fact that content outside of raiding exists in WoW and someitmes runes are designed around that fact. Lets see how well HAT works when you’re grinding alone or playing with 1 other person.

Or get this, I have 3 level 40 toons and am almost to 40 on a 4th one and have seen how much better the runes other classes have first hand. Next.

Yeah but at full duration, that’s plenty of time to get two finishers in to keep them both rolling.

If we get the Poisons level 50 and not 60 I will be very happy. We get Raid utility NOW and will be invited to groups.
I do not mind losing Instant Poison procs for armor and damage reduction on bosses. On a 20man raid, the Raid damage gain will probably be bigger from the armor loss than my instant poison procs. The damage reduction might help me if Tanking or the entire raids survivability

Please, blizz, make these available at 50.

good god sebacious poison is going to be absolutely busted in pvp. people are going to be crying for nerfs as rogues delete everyone in stuns

They told us we would be seeing a lot of datamined stuff that won’t be in the game or will be changed completely.

Don’t get your hopes up.

I think you meant Cut to the Chase. But oh yeah, I know that. It only refreshes one at a time. But with how easy it’s going to be to generate combo points, spamming Eviscerate is going to be extremely easy. So refreshing a 5 point Blade Dance and Slice N Dice should be a cake walk.

But…having free main-hand attacks on anyone you dodge is really good too. On top of that, I’ll be switching back over into the Sub tree for Ghostly Strike. So my dodge rating should be insane and Unfair Advantage should proc a lot for me. As much as I would LOVE to take Cut to the Chase, I think Unfair Advantage might be better for aoe threat.
