I mean, a sword is basically a longer dagger, so it should be allowed as dagger mogs.

You’re right. I need my poisons to do more damage to make up for the blunty blunt.
Daggers are mechanically different from other one-handers, we’ll never be able to mog them outside of casters, since all weapons are mechanically identical for casters.
There is probably a funny explanation. 
Swords, claws, daggers, of course—I’ve trained rogues in the use of them all. Now maces, I won’t touch maces and I won’t instruct any rogue who gets it in his head to wield one. There’s nothing stealthy about a mace.
You’re in for a noisy kill and a long cleanup if you go that route.

You can just play outlaw, can use fist weps, swords and maces
With enough force, anything can be used to stab someone.

Speaking of which, I don’t believe she ever showed back up. Perhaps she’ll be in midnight with a change in heart? Or perished.
