Im coming back to pvp for season 3 as sub rogue and im finding it overwhelming to track all my buffs cooldowns as well as combo points.
Ive looked into ‘tellmewhen’ but im not sure how to use it properly. I just want to have a shadow dance timer pop up in the middle of the screen when im using it so i know when it is ending. And maybe also combo points on the enemy rather than on my character bar.
Also any other suggestions to track or addons that are helpful for sub rogue.
For combo points on the target, you can use enemy nameplates, which is built into the Blizzard UI. Just go into your options to turn on enemy nameplates. I also like to use the larger nameplates checkbox to make it a little more prominent on my screen. This won’t put the combo points on the target frame, but it will put them on the nameplate above the enemy’s head.
As for something to track cooldowns like Shadow Dance, TellMeWhen is good. I would recommend using WeakAuras though. You can go to the following site and then browse the premade WeakAuras people have submitted there. Installing them with the Wago client is super easy, but you can also import them directly with their import strings.
Lastly, if you’d like, I made a simple WeakAura to track Shadow Dance myself. It works in all three specs and will only load when you’re logged in on a rogue character. It pops up two little shadowy crescent bars that fade out of color as the timer for each dance counts down. Once the bars disappear, dance is over. I’ve found it super helpful. Feel free to use it if you’d like! All you have to do after you install the WeakAuras addon is open it, click Import at the top, and then paste this string into the box.
