So right now I’ve got engineering and herbalism. I chose herbalism to be able to pick while I leveled and make thistle tea, but I’m run into a problem…
1 of my fave potions (restorative potion) is from a quest that you need to be a mid level alchemist and level 40 for. My level 30 war is making pots for my rogue right now… but I don’t want to level him to 40 to do this quest as it will take lots of time away from my rogue. So is it worth dropping engineering on my rogue and running herb/alch on him to make myself Free Action Potions and Restorative Potions?
Or
Is engineering THAT good for a rogue, that I shouldn’t drop it?
How serious are you in ensuring Engineering js worth it with all the consumables etc?
That’s the real question to ask.
Engineering is an extremely expensive profession to maintain, especially when used for PvP. The number of consumables required along with the fact you are not a miner yourself means you will be spending a load of money on it.
At the end of the day Engineering is a great profession, with most of it’s consumables requiring Eng to use (unlike other profession consumables which you can use without the profession)
You can’t go wrong with it. But on the other side it’s going to require a lot of gold farming to maintain. So you have to pick your poison, go the better profession with a lot more investment? Or go the slightly worse profession that doesn’t require the same investment.
Engineering is by far the best dps increase in PvE and has insane tools for PvP - Casually level your warrior with rest and/or find someone who can make them at a discount for you long term.
That or the players. I did the same thing in Vanilla when I was playing warrior.
Knowing your matchups is more important than professions by far. Professions aren’t gonna make or break a fight most of the time. RNG with crits/resists will instead.
Imo, engineering is a win harder profession not a turn a loss into a win one.
