Starting the search for my Shadowlands main. Between Arms, Fury, Outlaw, Assassination and Subelty, which spec is the most fun to play? I don’t really care about which is the “best”, there’s already tons of data out there talking about that. I’m pretty casual and I’m more about whats fun and looks cool.
woyer
But really just Outlaw meme build.
Depends on what’s fun for you.
Overall, I’d say outlaw.
Warrior. For looking cool and having fun Fury, followed by Arms (I’m partial to protection and fury). I used to enjoy rogues as sub but not any more.
Paladins are ok too, never really got far on a DK even after several attempts. DH is kinda fun, but once the novilty of the mobility wears off it’s kinda dull.
demon hunter, clearly. You can double jump.
WW monk, oooobbbvvvviousllly.
DHs are pretty fun with the double jump parkour style and safety of the wings if you fall.
I usually go sub rogue, but outlaw is fun, just being able to sneak past mobs you don’t want to engage can be fun too.
I have a couple warriors, I believe fury, but I’m not a pro at it, so my opinion for warriors is, get another opinion, lol
Depends if you like in your face combat with good self sustain or like to control the fight, but are squishy. Both are fun in their own way.
Warrior has better transmog options though.
Fun is subjective to opinion, as is cool looking.
Truly wouldn’t it be best to make some trials and see whether you like one or the other?
A bit biased here but I say Rogue. You can skip all the bullsh*t you don’t wanna fight, if the fight goes south or you get ganked in war mode you got Cloak of Shadows + Vanish. Great for solo play, which I tend to be. Idk about the other specs but they also have great CC. Sap, Blind, and Between the Eyes. Plus you can unlock all your own lock boxes!
Fury Warriors can double-fist two-handers and smash things in a whirldwind of giant maces.
Clear winner.
Maybe but sometimes it takes playing a toon for a good length of time before you know all the ins and outs. Also, im curuous to know the opinions of those who have already gone through the novelty phase. A couple times I made toons cause I loved them at first but then grew to hate them.
Fury is boring, but performs well.
Arms is fun, but performs poorly.
Rogue is fun and performs well.
Personally, I find Fury to be the most fun of those options, with Outlaw and Sub being close together for a #2 pick. I don’t really like the changes Assassin got since Legion, and while I think the spec is fine, Arms just isn’t something I like that much.
I am enjoying my rogue, for the most part. PVE-wise and world PVP, it’s great. Battlegrounds, not so much. I was really starting to have fun with my Unholy DK but I decided I need to stick primarily to one char. I am Assassination and I really like the simplicity. I always used to be Subtlety but it just didn’t seem effective, at least in PVP. I’m curious about Outlaw, but I have yet to get the weapons I need. Anyway, rogue kinda fits my play-style, I just need to either adapt to BGs or jump on one of my other chars for those epic fights
Actually with essences, Focusing Iris and Lucid Dreams it can perform really well
warrior is nice but rogue for me personally steals the cake.
10/10 great class to have
Just like every other dps?
Still won’t perform better than Fury.
Ret Paladin, judge people with the Light
saps
steals cake
Nom nom nom
garrotes…
Fury is very good. You get to generate fury cleaving like crazy, then press a fat finisher with the most satisfying smash animation. You also self-heal pretty neatly, and are very mobile.
I haven’t played much Arms, but I feel like it would feel more interesting in PvP due to utility and big single target pressure, than in PvE where I think rotation is a bit bland. It’s difficult to switch from fury where whirlwinds are free and everything cleaves for free. It’s also very group dependent, you will have tough time solo.
Rogues are fun if you like tactical stealth and sabotage kind of gameplay. I like assassination myself, because I like poison pressure. Subtelty seems overly convoluted, Outlaw feels like it’s every other melee spec.
