Im getting pretty bored with healing, in pve and pvp. I tried hunter, a smidge, and i think MM is super fun but really hard to get into M+ and PvP groups. Ive never played Rogue, and was thinking it sounded like a lot of fun for PvP, esp. RBGs and arenas. But I dont see a lot of them in M+ groups.
Was wondering for those of you who do play Rogue, is the merits of putting time into the class rewarding, or is it a struggle like any other dps these days, trying to get into groups? I hate logging in and then waiting to actually get to play. Thanks for any feedback.
Outlaw Rogue or Survival Hunter.

I just rolled an Outlaw Rogue and while I’ve read they underperform here and there, I love the spec. Love the flintlock pistol.
The answers here depend on the kind/size of group you run with. If you’re predominantly relying on LFG as a solo player, you might want to temper any expectations about finding quick and easy invites to groups. Balance hasn’t really been reasonably or seriously reviewed for months outside of minor hygienic bumps for the sake of optics here and there at this point, so there are layers of wildly unchecked “better” options (and also just objectively better, particularly this week with Afflicted) that keyholders wait around for before inviting Rogues and Hunters. This limited access and bias in the playerbase is probably the biggest caveat of playing either class currently, second only maybe to the restrictive talent trees that are packed with way too much must-take throughput.
That said, they’re both archetypal RPG classes, and they have really fun moments because of it. If you like rogue/ranger/warden/assassin in other games, you’ll find some of that enjoyment here as well. Playing a stealth class is super satisfying, and both are two of the better world content classes, to boot.

I primarily play M+ and PvP.
If you’re going for PVE you’re just gonna be left gambling that the rework even helps us because we will be nerfed into oblivion if it makes us even slightly viable. The current state of the game has simply devolved into playing FOTM and just rerolling because of how free gearing is currently if you wish to even engage in actual real endgame content. Bring the player, not the class, is not something that exists in this game anymore because of Dev bias.

So, what I can say for M+ I’ve said above and elsewhere; it’s pretty rough at the moment. Subtelty does do reasonably well once grouped, but there’s still a heap of bias in LFG, particularly on weeks like this where the god comp continues to reign and Afflicted disproportionately favors anything with a dispel and/or offhealing capability – which, conveniently, is every member of the god comp.
That said, things are vaguely looking to improve in 10.2 in the form of a rework. Until then, Assassination and Outlaw are riddled with performance issues in M+ and heavily dampened by down player perception even if those issues didn’t exist. Sin is mostly fun gameplay with a couple of very annoying maintenance abilities and woefully underwhelming 2-3 target. Outlaw is the highest APM spec with shockingly little payoff for the effort, comparatively. Generally speaking, you’ll be doing a whole lot as a rogue to arrive at places that take other classes far fewer actions to accomplish.

BUT, the class is fun, I’d still recommend playing it, and I like to think that the remaining members of the community are here for its potential. PvP is a minefield of disproportionate obstacles for rogues (especially considering a recent fundamental change to CC durations) but IMO there’s nothing quite like stealthing at-will and being able to choose where and when you’re going to engage. If you’re looking to get into a dps class that can become almost as strategic with their placement as a healer in most matches, rogue is a good bet. Give it a whirl.

Both class is not what I would recommend to anyone currently since both class is under performing and their class/spec tree need a major rework but if I have to pick on I would pick hunter. Simply coz you can go BM and level much easier and you are range so you have an advantage.
