Nopeā¦ just 4 guaranteed combo points assuming you didnāt get a 5th combo point for just existing for a lovely (also broken) 5 point envenom. (Unless you need to stun them for another HoJ firstā¦ then you gotta just auto attack until you get your Talented Sinister Strike energy back.)

As a veteran rogue player for probably more than youāre age, it was warranted. Very, very warranted.
Mutilate needs to hit lower than the other cp generators because it brings a huge amounts of dps because it strikes twice. The double strike procs energy gains, a chance to proc more poisons, and has the highest CP per energy point ratio of all the cp generators. It also has a double chance to proc seal fate. Because of these reasons, mutilate is supposed to hit lower than other cp generators because it makes up for the dps loss doubly, through its mechanics.
If you love rogue, and love being able to play multiple specs in different ways (like vanilla intended) then you should actually love this change because it opens up combat and sub builds and different weapon types.
Did you really want to be stuck the entire Sod season equipping mutilate regardless of spec? Did you really want to be stuck with just daggers for pvp and pve? Did you really want to play wotlk rogue in vanilla? I sure donāt. Personally, I was hoping for new playstyles with SoD instead of getting abilities/playstyles thats existed in every xpac in retail since wrath. I was really hoping to get away from that in SoD.
bro, no other spell from rogue can keep up with mutilate. they need to buff other spells, that is my main issue. this is not vanilla wow, its SOD. this isnt design to play like vanilla. get that out of your head
My point was vanilla did an excellent job with rogue at allowing different playstyles. So lets continue that with sod.
yeah but in sod they cant have that because no other rogue ability is good. they nerf whats good but dont buff what needs to be buffed
They need to make Mutilate cost 60 nrg again.
The other abilities would practically have to 1 shot a paladin (slight exaggeration) to be worth more than 2 weapons strikes (4 potential poison applications and windfury procs off of MH) and 2 Combo Pointsā¦

Thats not the issue. Believe me. I dont like playing mutilate. Its boring. Ive been playing it since phase 2. Im very excited to check out other builds. The issue runs from the most op class in the game saying rogue needs a nerf because either theyāre deflecting, or they got pooped on because they think rolling the most op class means theyre unbeatable. Skill issue. Mutilate was fine. Boring? Yeah. Broken? No way. Tons of other classes & spells WAY beyond mutilate that are broken.
