Rogue Macros : Combo restrictions

What are the spells that you can combine together in a single macro. I don’t have all day to figure out what does and doesn’t work. Blizzard puts restriction on the spells you can combine together in one macro. So can blizzard just tell us what spell combos we can put into a single macro.

Why are these macro spell combo restricted? Why makes macros at all! if your just going to restrict spell combos? And it’s like you know which ones that would give people and edge so you restrict these combos.

Gamers pay attention Blizzard makes macros then restricts, limits, and dictates what you can and can’t do with them. Does that make sense? They restrict the most potentially affective spell combos that would go well together.

Also there are so many spells you have to combine at least some of them in a single button.

Also cool downs are long, it’s like im always out of gas.

Should the amount of buttons we have to mash be maximized or minimized. There is such a thing as to many buttons to push. we can be overwelmed and panic.

I don’t even live long enough to push multiples buttons i die so quick sometimes.

Crimson vial is pathetic healing what a joke!

Whats the point of macros when your just going to restrict 90% of what spells can be combo’d.

Combos that don’t work but i think should :

/CAST GLOOM BLADE
/CAST SHADOW BLADES
/CAST SHURIKEN TOSS

/CAST FEINT
/CAST CLOAK OF SHADOWS
/CAST EVASION

/CAST SECRET TECHNIQUE
/CAST EVISCERATE
/CAST THISTLE TEA

/CAST SHURIKEN TOSS
/CAST GOUGE

What would help you understand what you can all put together, and what you cant all put together, is first understanding what abilities are on the global cooldown and what isnt. If you want to play rogue, you -have- to understand these to make and obtain better macros for yourself.

You sound very ignorant. Enjoy the report

Show me your macros then. Lets see’em.

#showtooltip
/cast Shadow Blades
/cast Shadow Dance
/use 13

I keep my on-use trinket in the #13 spot. If I spec’d into Flagellation, I include that as well. I keep Shadow Dance on another Keybind so I can use it even when Shadow Blades is on cooldown. I used to use more Macros for targeting keybinds, but stopped using most when the autotargeting option became a thing.

Generally speaking, on use items such as trinkets, potions, racials, can be stacked.
Spells that have a damage component, generally, can not be stacked.
It’s mostly a trial and error process. Maybe try a Google search.

Because one-shotting players with a single key press is bad design.

I mean the easiest way to test is stand anywhere in the game and press every button watch the hot bar if the GCD triggers it won’t stack. All you need to do is press every button once and you’ll know what can be stacked in a macro

my dude… there are /castsequence reset=0 macros you can use to do most of these.

Doesn’t that reset the sequence to the first spell instead of progressing through the list?

it goes in order until all spells are cast, to reset you add in “shift” to the macro and hit shift+macro to reset it to first spell, if you dont wanna wait on a timer macro like reset=5 etc etc.

/castsequence shift/reset=0 blah, blah, blah

/castsequence shift/reset=15 blah, blah, blah

both will go back to spell 1 when you hit macro+SHIFT together.

The ones I’m using…

one is broken in pvp though until they fix shadowstrike.

shadowstrike/symbols of death macro:

#showtooltip shadowstrike
/cast shadowstrike
/cast symbols of death

Goremaw macro

#showtooltip Goremaw’s bite
/use volatile crimson embers (you can remove this if you dont have any of these or donty want to use, but theyre hilarious in BG, especially when stacked with zerker.)
/use 13
/cast shadow blades
/cast shadow dance
/cast goremaw’s bite

Secret Tech/Cold blood macro

#showtooltip secret technique
/cast cold blood
/cast secret technique

Please other rogues point out if I could make these better or do them more efficiently, but the order is:

I use shadowstrike macro which shadowstrikes then uses symbols of death to get energy back and 10% dmg increase. I then use eviscerate then the goremaw macro which activates shadow blades and my trinket. I then use the secret tech cold blood macro for a 100% crit secret tech. shadow dance + symbols of death + shadowblades = 60% dmg increase, add the embers and its 90%. I then cheapshot and spam shadowstrike/eviscerate

I can do 200 to 300k single target dps for around 10 to 15 secs. I can do around 1.2 million dmg average in 5 globals. The only thing that sucks is that the shadowstrike opener is bugged in pvp right now so I’m just cheapshotting, backstab, then goremaw/secret tech macros.

You probably wanna put goremaw on its own separate macro. Goremaw will hit much harder if you stack Danse and even harder if you can get perforated veins stacked at the same time at 4, and of course harder if you want to combo cold blood with it. But, even with all that, in pvp i’ve only been able to hit about a 2-300k hit of goremaw so i could be doing something wrong.

since it’s off GCD now…
/ambush (or sinister strike for KiR builds)
/ghostly strike
