I mean it’s broken on retail too and has been for awhile, but Cata is just something else. Honorable mentions go out to feral (unkillable), mage (don’t need to explain), and ret.

Cata feral is just as broken as rogue in season 9.
If you try to play an off meta comp in cata like sp arms rsham or dk boomy hpal you will just lose to worse players playing better comps with way more instant crowd control.

Easier to cheat in classic than retail.
Yea gear in Cata is amazing. Which is why the PvP is fun. Legendary items, amazing trinkets and weapons. I can’t wait for Souldrinker on my Prot War.
How can you say that when expansions like SL and DF exist. Cata PvP had tons of fun in it. Everyone had some fun.
Honestly everyone has some good Class design in Cata and is relatively strong. Also Cata has crazy gear making gameplay exciting. That’s why people enjoy it.

meant it in this way: people who played a ton of retail arena which is just better and more refined, but then for some reason something happens in their brain and they go fulltime classic arena brainrot.

It tones down with full gear (resil) but not by a lot. Rogues probably at the height of it’s power in this games history in cataclysm, that was a warning on the label though nobody was pretending otherwise.

In terms of it being policed? Bans went out to the people who weren’t as careful. Or do you mean who were bots and who weren’t? AFAIK every warrior in r1 range was botting except that Qweener? guy. Dekel’s under a lot of scrutiny but having watched a fair amount of his wotlk stuff he made way too many mistakes idk. He blatantly showed AHK on his desktop so at the very least for some point of time that was on his computer. But his gameplay doesn’t show the usual tells of AHK like watching Torsten or Shinta did for example.
Basically I think dekels really good at skirting the line or w/e Kydrav’s implying but i don’t have any proof outside of debatable twitch clips.
Doesn’t he have 2 r1s? It’s not like he’s a shadowlands season 1 r1.
thats the thing. Retail arena being better and more refined is subjective. There’s things one group of people value in the gameplay, and things they don’t. And that’s true for both communities.

Max level PvP was pretty terrible for the early half of WoW’s lifetime. The only fun I had was making twinks
