“Rogue” can mean so many things though! A dishonest or unprincipled person, a scoundrel, rascal, thief… Han Solo and Jack Sparrow were rogues… those who make up their own rules to get the job done! And maybe scrape a little off the top for themselves we fight dirty, use unfair tactics, and have no problems with fleeing- err… tactical retreats!
I think rogue actually is the least played class and not monk.
Monk is second though
Saying it over and over isn’t actually supporting your argument. Please elaborate.
Oh honey child… you’re nothing more than a dollar store mage, ferel is nothing more than a walmart rogue and don’t get me started on resto and guardian… oooo sweetie.
Edit: oh and points to doll… show me where…
nice, you managed to write a 400 word essay without ever stating WHY rogue is not a real class other than repeating the same statement 5 times
I think that happened when the combat rogues got too drunk on “Talk like a pirate day” and never returned to their senses
Wow…this is probably the biggest strawman fallacy I’ve seen on these forums in some time.
I want to say this is bait, because the OP clearly doesn’t know anything about rogue, especially after the rework.
I think their point was all 3 specs are thematically the same and fill the same dps function.
Theyre all stealth based stabbers.
The difference in spec is just rotational.
Where with a mage, you have the fire one, the frost one, the arcane one.
Other classes get other roles.
Stuff like that.
maybe from the point of view of someone who never played rogue.
You dont even need to be that deep into playing to know thematically all 3 specs are unique, and the game play is very different.
I dunno, thematically it all feels pretty interchangeable to me.
I do agree it could easily be rolled in to just one spec.
But im also not complaining about it, and i dont think lack of variety in fantasy is enough to say its not a real class either. Or that anything about it needs to change.
If people like the class and have fun on it, thats all that matters in the end.

When you are given the option to select your class at character creation you can choose one called Rogue. Rogue is therefore a class.
and a paladin is just a aggressive monk…
rogues are meant to be stealthy or dirty fighters.
I’ve always seen sub as the ninja style rogue. I love sub.
So hard to master but once you do, it’s so worth it.
My imagination of an assassin is a Serbian teen nervous with a gun, ashamed that the Archduke managed to escape only to be so utterly surprised when he and his wife pull up in their car directly in front of him . . . that he starts a world war.
I think this makes a ton of sense. A rogue bard, going around playing a lute, hard. Critting E chords and inspiring the troops with a different E chord. Maybe throwing around some silver pieces to the common folk.
I’m also thinking, while we’re working shopping, that we need a class that can read fortunes for other classes. I’m torn between Priest and Warlock.
I play my rogue in HC and never use stealth ever not even once have I. And I play my main rogue in retail the same way.
Blizz should give them a 4th spec called Brigand that cannot use stealth but that does a lot of the other rogue abilities. They used to be Brigands in WC1.
Going by your logic OP Warrior is just ‘hit thing with weapon, be angry’
You’re holding Rogue to a different standard and I don’t know why.
