Rogue is actually so bad

the changes theyve made on 11.05 are so bad. they we got completely nerfed. we at least did damage with good survivability. now it is just garbage. the first week it was terrible with the changes, but at we still had survivability and could output some damage. now you either pick damage or survivability. if you choose survivability you will outlast everyone but lose by being alive alone because you cant do any damage and are separated by double the amount of dps done to the next guy in the lobby. what are they actually doing at blizzard with rogues because this is some BS. they nerfed us again on tuesday so our flag does less dmg. considering this is the only class I play, its like why even play at this point if I cant at least play to my skill level in arena because my class is so under powered against classes like spriest and feral. even lock, warrior, dh, pally, and dk feel s tier when I go up against them in shuffle. I dont like to complain or rant, but damn what is this garbage that blizz is doing. at least make us balanced and give us our sepsis and get rid of supercharger that does absolutely nothing anyways.
the issue is we need energy… we cant stay in the fight with zero energy the whole time. healers never run out of mana why would a rogue not be able to do damage for 10 seconds every 20 seconds because a lack of energy?

Just have to skip Sub and skip the roulette talents I suppose until it gets fixed. It might not have been intentional, but knowing them it will take weeks to correct

months, maybe a year at the rate they move. only fix stuff when people are having fun, never fix anything when its absolutely fubar.

Rogues are not that bad but I have said this since the TWW alpha that Rogues are not launching with the best foot forward as it was a repeat of Mists of Pandaria expansion.

I think the bugs magnify many issues or even sometimes pile onto existing bugs/design issues that really makes the class cumbersome or clumsy to play at times.

There’s some non-rogue stuff in TWW that really hurts us as well, and it all comes crashing together with bugs and flaws to create a poor experience.

A lot of mobs and events in dungeons/delves will automatically aggro you and put you in combat, even if you’re stealthed. It’s annoying in a group and hard to play around when solo.

IDK man. Warriors are not significant threats to Rogues atm I feel. Assassin and Sub ignore so much armor via Posion damage, bleeds, Shadow damage, and Expose Weakness. So many Warriors just brainlessly use Blade Storm which is an ability that with Feint we can ignore some 60% of the damage of. And they actually have pretty weak health regen. I find Warriors to be pretty easy kills.

Rets are strong which is why you do not see Warriors as much in PVP. Also a lot of harry potters and wizards slow down Warriors.

Warriors are very gear dependent like Rogues. Also Warriors and Rogues share similarities in that an experienced Warrior is very, very hard to beat if they time their CDs right.

Any Warrior can make a Swifty macro but can they play defense and time their CC?

I’m not necessarily disagreeing with you but I also do think Warriors have less tools to protect themselves then say Paladins and when you combine this with one of their biggest damage tools (Bladestorm) being easily mitigated by Rogues means they aren’t dumping on us. Bladestorm from prior xpacs has maybe given Warriors bad habits. I love when a Warrior Bladestorms. That’s my opportunity to really lay into them with my damage. They will stay close to me and their damage is predictable and easily mitigated.

Rogue, especially sub, has some of the highest survivability in game. I understand there being a trade off for it.

Its minimized in arenas but in wpvp or bgs the sheer amount of options you have to juke a determined enemy and escape is bonkers.

for me it’s just purely mechanical, arms/fury and rogue just feels like it was designed by someone who doesn’t play the game

this is true and false at the same time. if you play double vanish in arena, yes the sruvivability is super high. prob way higher than most classes. single vanish, not so much. you get maybe a couple hundred k bigger evis, but when youre getting pumped by high dps classes like ele, monk, frost dk, the healer simply cant keep up. and youre right that is the trade off. double vanish is survivability and stuns. but no kill, your partner has to get the kill. and if the game was played with that strategy across the board, then so be it, i would love that. but its not how its played. both dps just zug until someone dies. so give rogue more dps so if we choose single vanish that our dps is enough to swing momentum back on ourside rather than just taking mad damage that healer cant outheal and not being able to slow that momentum down with our own damage in return. non sub rogues dont get this, they think oh rogue has a million stuns and a million vanish they are so annoying to play against. yeah in bg its less reliant for rogues a player to be getting kills and more so of control. arena there is only 4 players able to get a kill and if you remove yourself from that 4 simply because you have high survivability and stuns, well that is irrelevant because surviving isnt the objective, the game ends when someone dies not when someone survives.

Double Vanish since MoP has been standard M.O. of the class to function properly because they removed other tools like Recuperate, Combat Readiness, Prep, etc.

I loved Assassination but switched to Outlaw strictly to avoid energy issues.

Energy starvation kills the fun of this class more than anything else. That is the most critical flaw with its design.

When energy isn’t an issue, it’s an absolute blast.

When playing Sub or Assassination it is nice not to have carpal tunnel in your hands coming from Outlaw. Pooling energy is also rewarding for Sub and Assassination.

The biggest mistake newer Rogue players make is thinking they need to do everything all at once back to back. Truth is you have to be selecting in certain situations and be patient to gauge what is going on.

bleed specs purposefully have energy issues, its built into the design

That is correct.

You can be off target and still be doing damage while and Outlaw/Sub Rogue require greater uptime which is why they have greater mobility.

Yeah but serious question here: who if not Rogues should be able to do that?

I’d argue that a Rogue’s vanish is much more fair of a reset mechanic then Bubble or Iceblock etc.

You have a lot of opportunities to counter a Rogue’s Vanish and it has few protections.

I honestly think most people’s problems with Rogues are skill issues stemming from not knowing how Rogues work. I know for instance that when I play my Warrior I dog walk Rogues.

And I think this is represented in the very low Rogue population. It means that many people aren’t playing them so don’t have that inside knowledge of their weaknesses.

Knowing classes/specs you don’t play seems to be some sort of staple in PVP skill, really. It’s funny because idk if Resto druids are really in a low pvp representation right now (for justified reasons), but it’s kinda amusing to see how many people clueless about the Preserve Nature PVP talent (that makes Tranq an invuln) and I see them blowing cooldowns on me trying to stop it… because you know, such an easy target, a Druid channeling a big healing spell.

Sadly it’s going away in 11.1 :frowning: perhaps the only possibility of using Tranq now is going to be in a Precog window.

This man waited 2 months for the meta to change and then replied lol.

Too long didnt read.

what? rogues been garbage all season and will continue next season. keep taking away spells and abilities and not replacing with a damage buff… that is the simple solution, yet they dont even add anything back to rogue after taking away a number of important abilities. like CDR with vanish, half the season vanish and stealth didnt even work, shadowy duel going. which is fine but replace with something at minimum damage. yet they dont so they seemly are saying rogue is perfect how it is infact its OP because they kep removing things, which isnt true. thats why no one is playing rogue at a mid-high level in arena
