For the first time I want to start and finish an expansion with a main class.
I decided to choose the rogue because I think it’s fun and I like unpopular classes but at the same time it’s hard to play and I would like to know how viable it is for a noob player to learn and be at least a good rogue?
Totally doable. No class or spec in the game is so terribly complex that the average person couldn’t play it at a competent level - especially if they play it in the entire expansion.
If you want to learn to play Rogue, don’t sweat it; just make a Rogue, read your guides, practice, and you’ll do fine.
The best spec is the reroll button but to give you an actual real answer Sin is probably the easiest of the 3 specs to learn. It’s one of the slower specs in the game and the rotation is extremely static making it really hard to actually mess it up.
Outlaw is definitely the most fun spec but it’s extremely punishing if you make a single mistake at all because the spec is currently designed around 90%+ uptime on Adrenaline Rush and you do less than tank damage if it ever drops. You have way more stuff you need to track and what you’re doing is dynamically changing because of RTB. It also has a ton of min maxing adjustments that are basically required that aren’t even covered in most guides and it’s also been plagued with game crippling bugs ever since the DF rework.

For Sub, you need to be fast and watch dr. I am talking about cc 3 players+. For Sin, just do dmg and CC healer when kill
Window up. Outlaw is like similar to Sub and weak atm. You will die alot at start if you dont have gear and has no idea what to do but you will get better eventually. To be good at 1v1 thats different story.

I always recommend, for a bunch of reasons, that you should play what you enjoy. Having said that, you can be successful with any rogue spec but Assassination is probably the easiest of the three to do well in as a beginner.

Sin Rogue would be the best of the three since it’s slower and doesn’t require as many buttons as Subtlety or as much RNG as Outlaw.
Outlaw, being an APM spec, is easy to understand but hard to mechanically master. If you want to believe the drivel about it being ‘dynamic’ or whatever obscure lie that’s limping to the barn, go for it. It’s basically Between the Eyes spam at infinitum.
Have you played Assassination? Your comment makes it sound like it’s 5 buttons vs 12 when in reality its 10-12 across all three specs.
Having said that, your point is still valid that Sin is a slower APM rotation. Sub isn’t much faster. It just plays differently.
