Hi, this is a reminder that occasionally enemies will still get auto attack, or even a spell or ability (and sometimes both), off when you open with cheap shot - even when opening behind the target where there is 0 chance they saw you before you open on them. This is likely due to spell batching, where mobs have a “batched” attack even if you stun them from stealth.
This is unvanilla like pursuant to patch 1.10 notes on rogue:
- Creatures will no longer get one hit on a rogue before cheap shot takes effect.
Please address and fix this issue. Thank you.
i am getting hit as well. even when i back stab a creature or ambush from stealth.

Is this related to the blunder that is spell batching?

I had this happen with sap yesterday. It was odd though because I got crit for 400 damage as I was sapping another player, but he ended up sapped and I remained in stealth.
I’ve played since tbc and I’ve never seen stealth and vanish this broken in so many different ways.

This is probably linked to the hunter freezing trap bug. When trap fades, the mob gets one auto attack on you, even if you’re 20 yards away. This attack does not daze me when I’m in cheetah.
Yeah, I have seen some very wonky things with sap, stealth and vanish.
Sap often time triggers fiery weapon, on-hit weapon procs, crusader price etc.
For example, I have perditions blade and will sap an enemy. They will be sapped but simultaneously take 40ish damage due to my Perdition’s blade proc, or suffer from one of my crippling poisons.
Another is the massive delay in stealth. If I am fighting a rogue and then vanish, I can still see them for upwards of two seconds after they cast vanish. It doesn’t stealth them or render them untargetable - I can keep on attacking them as if nothing has happened. Makes vanish near useless versus melee.
Yep i always apply crippling poison to my sapped target. I haven’t tried it but I wonder if deadly poison would apply and break sap if you happened to be using it? That could be a major
Issue.
Yeah I was getting ganked by a hunter, so I sprinted and vanished while out of range of his pet with no dots on and his pet kept chasing me. I gouged the pet, prep sprinted and vanished, and the pet came right after me once gouge ran out.
Then last night I was fighting a hunter and warlock, I killed the warlock and hid around the corner for dots to fall off. When they did went stealth because I was out of combat, but right before I stealthed the hunter had me targeted and sent his pet to attack me. My stealth activated and the pet just ran over and attacked me anyways.
I’m also constantly getting pulled out of stealth attempting to cheap shot mounted players who run by me, or trying to cheap shot rogues/druids who appear and disappear just as I get the cast off. Nothing happens to them and my combat log just says stealth faded, and it goes on cooldown. (Also occasionally the stealth cooldown goes up to 10s despite being talented in CD reduction).
This class is so buggy it’s embarrassing for a 15 year old game.

Exactly,
I forgot to mention the camouflage bug.
Oftentimes, Stealth goes on a 10 second cooldown despite being talented to 5 seconds.
This problem is the result of poor queue handling. A queued event apparently never gets dropped from the queue, even if it is interrupted, stopped or otherwise interfered with.
IRL, if I shoot you before you stab me, you die, I am unharmed.
IWOW: I shoot you but you get your stab off after you die because it was in the queue.
Sigh…
