Rogue Backstab Build > Sword Spec For Dungeon Grind Group?

I’ve been reading that a good cleave group (melee and spell) are actually faster leveling than even the best questing times (Joanas).

Can Rogues fit into a melee cleave group? Obviously they may not be ideal, but my brother and I are going to play rogues, and we want to level up as fast as we can.

Does anyone have some knowledgeable opinions on this?

I am wondering if a rogue backstab build for a cleave group would be higher DPS than the standard Sword Spec. Grabbing that Improved backstab in Combat for 30% increased crit chance since you will be in a dungeon group.

Has anyone seen a video or content creator leveling a rogue in a group and comparing backstab specs to sword specs or anything up this alley?

Swords hit harder, bs is for burst. So if there is downtime between kills bs might come on top. But it’s marginal at best.

Plus first ambush crit and thing will look at you, not tank.

Rogues dont have any cleave, so they dont fit into a cleave group.

At best you have 15s of cleave every 3 minutes, otherwise you are 100% single target.

IMO I would take swords for dungeons. The amount of mob movement relative to raid mobs can make positioning more of an annoyance. Plus, even if you’re planning to dungeon level you will do some solo content at some point.

Every 2 minutes actually.

False combat rogues get blade flurry and can hit two targets once every 2 mins
