Rogue Alchemy Trainer for poisons

I’ve done the poison related rogue quests up to Tauren Hill. I’m now with the poison trainer there and it shows in green ‘apprentice alchemy’ but it doenst allow me to hit ‘train’.

Do I need to go back to undercity (or some other city) and level up my alchemy score before i get access to poisons? Does that mean I should always as rogue/poisoner have alchemy and maybe herbalism?

EDIT:

Oh I realized I had to unlearn one of my 2 professions.

Does that mean if you are a rogue and you want to use any poisons you HAVE to be alchemy as one of my professions? And probably herbalism as a good combo with that?

I currently ranked up my mining to 90 and had jewelcrafting at 0. I had amassed a large amount of jewels, what should I do with them now?

Any recommendations on what I should do going forward as a rogue who wants to use poison?

You don’t need alchemy to make poisons. It’s a rogue ability, not an alchemist ability.

Poison is treated as a rogue only profession, you need to level it by making low level poisons before you can learn higher level poisons. You may just be seeing a tooltip error referencing alchemy.

Check the rogue trainer instead of the poison trainer to see if you are missing anything.

You get the poisons through the questline, not through training. It just happens that the NPC with the final quests in the chain is also an Alchemy trainer. So, you need to do his quests, but not train with him. If you’ve finished his quests, you should have learned how to make the poisons so check your spellbook.
