I don’t think this guy exists. Everyone claims that you need to kill Lost/Wandering Algans to get him to spawn. Well, I’ve been at it for days, 2 hours on average. 4 last night with a raid. You’d think after the amount we killed last night, it would have spawned. Nope. Nada.
Please, PLEASE, fix this dude’s spawn rate. Or just make him spawn. Regardless of the achievement, he drops a pet. It’s not 100%.
I’m sick of trying to get him to come up.
At the very least he should be removed from the achievement. I’ve spent a lot of time specifically farming for him with groups, plus all of the time I spend in Nazjatar doing other stuff, and I’ve yet to see him or even see someone call him out.
I was in group tonite for about a hour or so they finally got him to spawn and I got the Budding Algan pet…and my kill…be aware you can’t cage that pet and sell it you can only have 1/1 for it.
I’ve seen it one time, in a group that farmed for hours and had 30-40 people at any given time. Didn’t get the pet of course.
The other groups I’ve seen collapsed after not getting it to spawn.
5 Hours in, no spawn. Raid ranging from 20-40 people so we arent’ missing him either. Rare is a joke, spawn should be fixed or pet should be cageable.
Hilarious story about this guy. Yesterday i farmed those stupid sea weed dudes for about an hour and a half alone.
I then looked for a group instead, and farmed for another hour. In the group i learned there arent even that many of them alive and much of the time was spent just looking for a single one to kill.
So its dinner time soon. Time to start cooking so i go down and turn the oven on. I come back upstairs and see still no spawn and more defeatist chat so i give up. I switch to my druid, which i haven’t played at all other than to farm benthic to trade to my dk.
The rare is right in front of me when i load in in the forest area. I sware i almost had a heart attack.
I go back on my dk, but im still in that group from before. Meaning im phased to a different realm than my druid and i cant figure out how to get back.
I log back on the druid and just kill it with a group of others who were very happy.
Im sure im one of very few people who have killed that rare and been upset about it.
So its dinner time now. I am like omega tilted irl at this point. Burn the food, just zero interest after that afternoon.
I eat, and my mood evens out.
I log back on my death knight.
Some how still in the group from before. It used to have 40, now it has three.
Me a hunter and a druid.
The hunter says…
"Rockweed up."
We both fly there and the rollercoaster of a day ends with a huge smile on my face.
Honestly most emotionally involved i have ever been in world content, for better or for worse.
Dunno what else to say other than some times blind luck is the best path forward.
Welp 5 hours in we got him to spawn, about 6 pets for the 27 in raid. Another day another 5 hour farm we go (twice since i do it on two chars till i get the pet).
You didn’t mention if you got the pet. For those after the pet, when he doesn’t drop it, it’s a pretty lousy moment, rather than a victory.
Oh ya, not interested in the pet at all, but I did get it both times I killed it. Just after rep / the achievement.
Reading this chat when I tab out and in to see it sitting in front of me after a two day grind. Four hours one day and another 3 hours the day I first saw it.
Sadly no pet but that will come in time.
