As Rockbiter Weapon is the main way for shaman to tank through Way of Earth having to reapply the buff every five minutes is kinda jank. If you forget to re-apply a buff, you run the risk of dropping out of tank stance.
I think a good QoL change would be for Way of Earth to also alter the duration of Rockbiter Weapon while the rune is engraved from 5 minutes to 30 minutes. This alters nothing for people that dont use Rockbiter and allows some form of (albeit minor) mana conservation which Shaman desperately needs at the moment

I dont even play Shaman but I can 100% agree. Generic buffs like that and thorns for druids should match the 30 minute buff timers. There is zero reason for them to be 5 mins and 10 mins other than being an annoyance to players.
I didn’t say anywhere it was hard, I said it was jank or annoying. Imagine having to keep a major buff for your role up every 5 minutes and if it drops you lose your taunt and when you do get it reapplied it also puts your taunt on cooldown. You know what makes this so important? If Rockbiter Weapon drops I lose 30% of my HP right off the rip, take 10% more damage, and lose 50% of my threat gen which is huge for tanking. The 30% hp alone could mean a death and the last thing on my mind if I’m tanking is gonna be reapplying a 5 minute buff
Even Righteous Fury has a 30 minute duration for prot pallies, all this change would do is bring Rockbiter Weapon in line with other tanking auras/buffs while not altering the ability for people that don’t wanna tank. It’s a QoL change that would be a HUGE boon for tank shamans.

Yeah, gotta love that they made Paladin’s threat buff “until cancelled” but we are left recasting every few minutes. I’m used to it now so it’s not a major issue for me…just another example of how much better treatment the holy boys got over us.
