Rock Collector pet battle S**ks

Every battle is different than the next. Battles rely on way too much RNG. The videos I saw calls for a team of 3 Left Sharks at level 1 each for best odds at beating the quest. To put it nicely, this quest S**ks and needs to be revisited or better yet removed entirely.

Three Left Sharks? Are you doing it for the Aquatic Battler achieve?

This is a particularly easy one for Aquatics. I did it by myself. I think I used a Pump/Cleansing Rain pet, an Emperor Crab, and maybe Blood in the Water? It wasn’t memorable.

The Three-Level-1-Team strategies work great against a single-pet team but become way unreliable against a full team of 3.

True. but - /waves hand - with a decent choice, I don’t see any of the Usual Suspects holding out more than a couple of tries.

Do you know of any resistant ones? It would be an interesting challenge!

P.S. Just because I was curious, I just did Big Carcass withthree level 1 Flyers and Strange Looking Dogs with three level 1 Aquatics and scored 40 Charms. Took 25 minutes, including travel time, so my original estimate of an hour and a half was way over.

If you’re just trying to beat it as regular quest, I use this team from Xu-Fu’s site. Works every time with no problems. I checked and you have all three pets needed at 25.

I just put up three pets with Pump on the first day and used that. It failed occasionally, but RNG let it win much more often than not.

I did the family achievement this past week and found that several of those strategies (listed on Xu-Fu) were faster and much more reliable.

You can bet I will be trying this and replacing whatever team I ended up saving for this WQ with this one.

Thanks!

I run multiple alts thru Collector Dyna pretty much anytime it’s up and have never lost yet. Two Pandaren Water Spirits and some fairly strong just-in-case backup pet (I like the Ambystan Darter).

Guess the word is out on them, price of the Water Spirits has jumped on AH last couple of months.

I actually use unborn val’kyr, anomalus and tragg the curious for all three-pet battles except the little girl in Hallowfall. I use three ikkys on her. I just keep hitting black claw until it lands. It usually takes a little over half an ikky to kill the bee. On all single boss pet battles I use three ikkys. No complicated pet teams.

(The three ikky team worked on all four pet battle trainers for the flying pet achievement.)

I’ve been using Xu-Fu’s strategy. Tried a few others and some variants but always end up going back to Xu-Fu’s (Unborn Valkyr, Anomalus, Tragg)
