Robe of the Arch Mage + Arcanist 3 piece, or Banthok and Arcanist 3 piece?

Curious which would be better? Seems to be a bit of debate between my guild.

Basically I have Arcanist Chest+Pants+Bindings, with Banthok.

But would buying a belt, and converting to Archmage + Pants, Belt, Bindings be superior?

Or at this point is the 1% hit that valuable?

At the least level tailoring for the bloodvine set that comes out with ZG.
Ideally you want (as of right now), archmage chest, t1 helm/bracers/shoulders, pvp gloves+boots, and the banthok.

This is all disregarding BWL loot of course.

Yeah; I know what’s technically ideal.

I just took a few month break so that’s just what I am working with currently.

Sadly our t1 is really really bad.
For frost raiding you basically just want as much +frost damage as possible.
So just do some quick math and see which set up gives you more damage and go with that.

Also I believe 1% hit is worth like 16-18 damage or something iirc.

So if the set without banthok doesn’t give you at least that much more damage it’s probably not worth

If you’re going to reconfigure the pieces you’re wearing for your 3-piece, Arcanist Crown should be top of the list priority. Then while you’re working on your tailoring, run Strat Live until you get a Star of Mystaria (unless you have Choker of the Firelord).

I’ve got those two plus Banthok. Most of the other mages in my guild have only one or two of the three and my miss % is half what their’s is (in actual practice on bosses). To the point where I find myself keeping up with them on damage on occasion even though they’re all Arcane power spec and I’m one of our two Winter’s Chill mules.

Personally, I’m not planning on getting third of Banthok until I get at least two hit pieces from BWL/ZG to offset.

Arcanist belt is garbage, dont use it, not even for set bonus.

Ideally you use Robe of the Archmage, Ban’thok Sash, and use T1 head, bracers, and boots (I think) for the 3pc. Archmage is fantastic through T2. Ban’thok has replacements.

1% Hit can be matched with sufficient SP but without knowing the rest of your gear and the consumables/buffs you run with, I can’t say what that is.
