I understand you think doing basic weekly content is “working hard”. Weekly m+ and such are pretty easy, but if you are of the mindset they are “hard work” than it’s probably time for a break.
Your one-word post is purposefully avoiding the point of my thread. Why even bother??
Vox, what an idiotic comment. I can’t even…
Is it? It’s a game. It’s made for enjoyment. If you don’t find enjoyment in it, what’s the point?
You don’t seem to understand some simple things, like… you can only run dungeons so long for so many hours spending countless gold being prepared for nothing until you start seeing how effort and rewards aren’t there and it’s not fun anymore… if you ran a dungeon over and over knowing you’d never get an upgrade from it, you wouldn’t run it anymore… it’s not about me, its about a game that is too RNG dependent against the player and I think Blizzard could code this a bit more generously in a way that is a good compromise and noit difficult to implement either
agree that the apparent total lack of bad luck protection makes this system feel really bad
we already had RNG in the past of wow but it had vendors with solid guaranteed gear as bad luck protection
now it appears that bliz just wants it to take longer and wants lots of people to have tons of wasted loot chances due to bad stats or slots we didn’t need
But without some upgrade path you’ll eventually get full BiS, will you really keep playing then??
It may not be a bad thing for you, but it would crap on blizzards business. And I’d rather see them keep making this game.
… People feeling indebted to play isn’t keeping people subbed any more, though. It’s certainly why I took a break.
I’d rather they kept up retention by creating fun, repeatable content than by making them feel like their rewards are inadequate, and that they should maybe run a couple more times so they’re not.
And by the way, if there were an emphasis on making the content fun, I’d likely make an alt upon hitting BiS, and gear them up. Feeling like I can never quite get my main satisfyingly geared is SUPER frustrating.
But there is no upgrade path in a pure RNG casino. That’s the problem you’re saying is not a problem… do you enjoy every week getting nothing for all your efforts?
I’d like to quote Gedpriest as they understand it 100% and many of you don’t get it at all.

Agree, OP.
I find excessive RNG discouraging rather than encouraging. “Do everything and get nothing” is a crap motivator.
E X A C T L Y. People arguing with me on this are arguing against their own best interests.
You’re absolutely right. You know how when you’re really frustrated you do things that are clearly not good for you? I just took a 1k DPS loss and vendored my unsocketed benthics because I am ****ing tired of the RNG grind. I’ve sunken at least 1k into pearls for some socketed gloves. Outside of that toxic system, gearing is so friggin’ aimless; really if it weren’t for AotC I actually don’t have to do anything but do a 10 for the week.
People can argue with me, but I’ve made plenty of constructive criticism and I think Blizzard doesn’t want to create a system where players say F this and quit cos it’s not worth the effort.
RNG is horrible, I play less also,
What people fail to understand is that a pure RNG system takes all the power away from the players to set any practical goals ingame… and that just sucks and is not fun.
Gearing in retail sucks. It’s one of the most unrewarding systems Blizz has ever made.
I’ll probably be spending most of my time in classic over the next few months. It just feels better than retail.
Yep the RNG of the game these days coupled with the fact that there is zero fulfillment through getting gear because of the RNG system of ilvl and tertiary/sockets really really really sucks and needs to change.
It’s a shame we only have the choice of one or the other. It’s so nice being able to go to a certain dungeon and try for a certain drop in Classic, but also the general experience of Classic is, well, it’s clunky.
It’s a charming kind of clunky and I love it sometimes, but it’s undeniable.
But Player Engagement man, shareholders are looking for that sick spread and the executives must deliver!
How can Blizzard provide sick spreads without the carrot-on-a-stick?
