My hunter now has more tier pieces than my druid. My hunter, who has 23 total raid boss kills this season and zero M+ VS my druid who has 61 raid boss kills and 8 or more M+ every week since the raid dropped.
Tonight in normal raid my hunter also got a good trinket, my druid? All garbage, and my druid also raids heroic, but so far nothing. I don’t want to swap to my hunter, but at this rate I might as well. Not only am I getting better gear from less effort, but the hunter tier set is better than the druid one for DPS.
It’s just demoralising, you raid, you M+, you get 6 vault chances a week, last week I had 11 normal and 5 heroic kills for nothing, every upgrade so far since the raid dropped, except one, was from my vault or doing M+, and those vault upgrades came from the M+ slots. I’ve had one total item all raid tier drop from the raid that I am using, I could have taken the entire raid tier off and still had almost the exact same gear I have now on my druid.
“Go kill more bosses”, “Go run LFR”, “Do more M+”, “Fill your PVP slots”, like damn guys, raiding 3-4 nights a week and M+ is not enough? When will it ever be enough for you guys? Some of us have this thing outside of the game, you know, it’s called a life. Already putting in that much effort and all the excuses I hear from this horrible forum is just “Put in more time”, that’s not the answer, RNG is just an outdated concept to keep us on the hamster wheel, but you know what else RNG does? It pushes players aside, players who do put in effort and get nothing from it.
I have a theory that least played characters have better rngs because getting good rng upgrades and drops stimulates the desire to play that character more
Throughout shadowlands my very abandoned second hand alts have consistently received sockets and weapons in their vaults, and in bfa a heroic raid claw from the only 4 m+ dungeons weekly chest that alt ever ran while my mains with consistent high /played per week always get duplicates and jewelry
What’s cool about it? Groups for m+ are making tier requirements in LFG and tier doesn’t drop in m+. How’s that “cool”? Cuz you’re a troll, that’s how.
I’m just saying that you’re a bad troll, and trolling forums seems to be important to you
But yes, requirements for gear that cannot drop in the content you’re queuing is pretty bad too, hence multiple threads about it, troll.
That’s how rng works. Its not a roadmap that tells you when you will get gear or not. Its suppose to be random , unplanned and chaotic. Its not suppose to be your best friend
That isn’t a theory. It’s the same for new and old accounts that don’t get played much, they will give you something shiny for starting a new account or coming back on an older account to entice you to keep playing.
I know a guy with now 8 accounts and some 350 characters and has been playing since Classic, every new account he has started has gotten some fancy mount in no time, and I’ve also seen people who took breaks come back and get something shiny in no time.
I even made an account to test this thoery, took a fresh trial character on a fresh account over to Mechagon, 3 kills later I had the spider mount. RNG or not, it’s quite a coincidence.
It’s not unreasonable to ask for the best you can get, too many times people have keys depleted or bricked because the players they get are crap, why wouldn’t you take the highest iLVL/Tier player you can and maximise your chances at timing a key?
Even than it’s no guarantee, the other day I had a 4 piece BM I pugged into a guild run, dude was no better than par with the other 2 DPS who did not have a 4 piece.
Not the point. If our main characters don’t get the right gear than we become a burden to our guilds raids and keys and it happens, players get dropped for underperforming simply due to bad RNG on gear.
Even just your average trinket VS the best can be a few % DPS increase, and that’s just one item. Looking at catalyst, what happens if you don’t have a high iLVL piece to make into a catalyst, or an M+ item that can be slowly upgraded? RNG can be the difference in being able to get into groups (or stay in guild runs) or not. And it’s really beyond fair now that some players get crap and get dropped because of it even though they are putting in the time and effort.
But how long do we wait until we get our item? Do we also just run more content in hopes our items will drop? Why is it GD love so much to jump onto alts and than tell us to ‘git gud’ like we are Jesus performing a miracle? What is wrong with this place?
I’ve finished some seasons missing pieces because RNG just never gives up and let’s me have something nice. You can wait until there is no more waiting left and than it’s just a matter of “Sorry, not everyone should be getting everything”.
You don’t have to have bis to be able to play the game, that’s supposed to be what you’re working towards. You’re playing an MMO, that’s 90% of the game striving for those upgrades so you can overcome content. You can’t ‘git gud’ at RNG, and if that’s how you interpreted what I said, then you have bigger problems than gear not dropping.
We’re also playing a “role-playing” game. RNG doesn’t really make sense the way its executed.
You can have a system that allows players to strive for continued power progression without RNG.
Tier sets could have been combined with the domination shard upgrade system. Tier pieces could have been acquired in a more deterministic manner, and then players could earn a currency that could upgrade the pieces over time - this time could have even been a longer period of time than the average time it takes a player to get 4 piece today.
I’ve said for a long time now that gear just needs to be on a vendor. Kill a boss? Get a currency… save up buy what you want.
Pvpers have had this since wotlk right. The only complaint you hear from pvpers about gear is it being behind rating…but zero complaints from them about the actual collection of the gear.
Why? Because effort rewarding gear in a linear fashion is FAIR
I mean I think a role-playing approach could also work.
We get all kinds of magic dust, flux, ashes etc. Combine that from a plate armor piece from x boss and a red ruby from y boss and badabing - you have a new armor piece.
The drops can be more deterministic and also MORE “role-playing” oriented all while minimizing RNG.
Your comments in this thread on a level 11 alt are very trolly or ignorant. This is a legitimate concern for many people, and judging by your trolly comments, it’s probably over your casual gaming mindset. You seem to not understand what the concern is, but are still bipping off.
