So I’m on my fresh fire mage, I still have a lot of blue Azerite armor. Do the 7th Legion quests, get the big guy that drops a nice new armor piece, it drops a 385 waist.
I need AZERITE armor. It drops a duplicate of the SAME dang 385 waist piece I already have. I have a 345 weapon, I’m wearing blue (330) head and shoulders.
Come on Blizz. WTH.
Why would you expect to gear up instantaneously to match other people who have been playing their toons for a while?
imagine trying to even get to your gear level that quickly through conquest. you’re doing fine doing open world pve.

You’re right it doesn’t. Especially for randoms, they are ilvl 353, definitely well enough.
All I gotta say is it took me too long to get a viable weapon to swap to another spec. However I was up to my eye balls in daggers.
Most of my toons are in the mid 350s. If I lose, I definitely don’t think it was a gear issue.
Get used to duplicates. I got the same off hand weapon 5 times when I needed so many other items.
That’s mainly my point. If I work to do a weekly or bi-monthly quest for some 370+ gear and it drops the same dang thing my conquest drops, what’s the point? We need to be able to pick slots or get a darn PVP vendor back.
You still have upgrades through the conquest system, keep at it.

The people replying to this comment are the problem with RNG. You’re all so used to being treated like garbage by RNG that you’ve just accepted it. RNG duplicates feel absolutely terrible, especially with the weekly chests, Warfront quests, or anything that you’ve worked towards. Getting an item that is an exact duplicate of something your wearing and immediately taking it to the scrapper should not happen.
You’re right, let’s go back to the days of only one piece per week. At least with RNG you can gear up in a week if lucky.
Lol except you really really can’t gear up in a week via PvP. Even if RNG God’s blessings you. If you do all the other stuff maybe (assaults/warfronts)… But that’s still only if you play a ton and get hella lucky.
I’d rather go back to one a week that I know will be an upgrade. Getting all that RNG gear in the first 2-4 weeks of the expansion felt great. Now I’ve gotten 2 upgrades in the last 8 weeks. Feels really bad.
The RNG get all your gear with wrong stats and traits in the first month is super short sighted for the longevity of the PvP season. Zero incentive to que rated other than if you enjoy it.

Except you’re really not getting higher lvl gear anymore. Like I said, 2 items in the last 8 weeks, definitely a worse ratio than one a week lol.
So maybe you’re maxed out until you reach higher rating.
Sort of… I’ve gotten tons of 370-375s (plus a few higher war/Titans) but literally every single one I get is a duplicate. I have a bunch of 360s and haven’t been able to replace them for 8 weeks.
RNG loot sucks. Gearing out in under a month also is not a good system. Short term (in that month) it feels good… When the season is 6 months long though it really really doesn’t feel good.
