RNG & Chaos Are Not Synonymous Blizzard

I’ve noticed that it’s a philosophy as far as class design is concerned that chaos = RNG, which is awful.

It’s most egregious with a specialization like destruction, where our mastery has our damage randomly increase because, unfortunately, that correlates with the definition of chaos.

It also spills into different aspects of our playstyle, for example, with our dimensional rifts and, to a degree, our infernal capstone talent.

  • A great start would be to blatantly remove awful talents like soul conduit and instead make chaos bolt and rain of fire refund soul shards after so many are spent
  • Make chaos bolt a meaningful spender by increasing the cost of shards, increasing the cast time (cannot be reduced by haste or backdraft) and massively increasing the damage
  • Increasing the charges on dimensional rift, making it deterministic and reintroducing flame rift

I want to express that designing destruction’s playstyle around the idea of disorder feels frenzied (manic). Can we please have more deterministic factors regarding destruction warlocks (and class design as a whole)?
