Ritual of Doom

Why is this still a thing? Is there an actual use for it anywhere?

As far as I can tell, its only benefit is that the demon is ranged. Which doesn’t give nearly enough of a boon to justify the hour cooldown, and the lack luster damage (or is the damge better than I think?).

Is it better for an Aff-lock, than a Demo-lock?

Aside from the occasional roulette i can “threaten” friends with, it seems like a wasted ability. I’m hoping that I just don’t understand its use.

It serves no use. It’s just a flavor spell Blizzard added when they got carried away with “un-pruning”.

Fact, iirc its a DPS loss over the IMP.
THE IMP
That’s saying something…

Well, that’s disappointing.

Unfortunately the whole thing has come into the realm of outdated and only there to be there as flavor.

Not everything has to have a point outside of goofy fun. Some people like it and it doesnt hurt anyone by being there. Should it be the strongest demon a warlock can summon? Probably, because that fits the flavor more, but again, its mostly there for fun.

I thought it simmed higher then the imp? I could be tripping though. My understanding is that it was like a 1percent dps increase over imp.

it’s really just their for role playing lol

It’s fun to use while leveling. I think I was in the 30s/40s pvp bracket and summoned it for some BGs. Pretty strong there and doesn’t sacrifice anyone before the match starts. Course players would sometimes kill it before I got to enslave it, that was a bummer.

A guild group let me use it the other night. Its dps is surprisingly good.

I dunno, potentially killing a party member seems like it does a bit of harm.

Really though, goofy things to add would be like having summoned characters come through our closets, but have larger toons animate like they’re squeezing out, while small toons race out and fall from the speed…

This feels like it’s supposed to be something grandiose, only to be near useless. So, for me at least, falls flat and appears like bad design more than goofy flavor.
