RIP Ruth Bader Ginsburg

This thread reminds me of a quote, even if it might be attributed in error.

“The best argument against democracy is a 5 minute conversation with the average voter.”

It’s true. The average voter will tell you what they think but won’t be able to tell you why they think it.

Tyranny is present on all and any political ideology. It is a paradigm of rule, not an economic model like capitalism, socialism, etc.

unchecked capitalism has killed way more people than socialism has btw

I mean damn, give me information otherwise.

I’d love to think that it could only get better. Why would I be against something that would improve my quality of life?

Not sure how or even how one would measure that lol. There hasn’t been “unchecked capitalism” for more than 100 years.

not going to happen.

they don’t want biden just about everyone i talk to whos voting this year is voting for trump or a third party. they wanted bernie and they should have gotten bernie.

Hey guys, how’s the politics thread going? We ready to talk about multiboxing and elf customization again?

I’ve already given my points that many things that would improve your quality of life are stonewalled by Corporations and Politicians with private interest, who would lose money if they gave you that quality.

Quality of life typically comes at the cost of profit, and in Capitalism, profit must always come before quality of life.

Unless of course you’re the one making the profit. Then Capitalism is great for your quality of life.

True, but I wonder… population growth due to industrialization and mechanization of war means we’ve probably had more people die cumulatively since 1900 than have died in all previous conflicts

Interesting read to this topic:

I feel icky upvoting a Skinwalker post…

I can’t respect a Bernie bro that refuses to vote. Bernie played the long game and understood that victory comes in baby steps. It craps on his entire legacy

Are you from California? “We” don’t have rolling blackouts, customers of PG&E have rolling blackouts, because PG&E is a horrible company that spends millions on bonuses to its board of directors instead of maintaining its equipment.

Lots of places in California (Los Angeles, Sacramento, Alameda/Contra Costa, for example) have municipal utilities owned and operated by the government. And we DON’T have rolling blackouts.

PG&E’s blackouts are because of corporate greed and mismanagement. Period. It’s one of the worst-run companies on earth.

if you vote for trump just because bernie didn’t get the nomination you deserve what happens tbh. bernie doesn’t want you ushering in a far right theocracy out of spite.

I suggest checking out Second Thought. He articulates and provides more digestible evidence to most of the claims i’ve made.

Of course, it’s up to you if you want to believe him or not.

bro i’m voting for trump besides everyone knows that the polls are not right and he’s winning by a lot. still i think it would have been more of a fight with bernie.

the polls are biased except when they support me then they aren’t — the president of the united states

polls said clinton was going to win in 2016. wrong then and wrong now.

As always. If you need more just let me know.

I hear you, didn’t mean to imply you weren’t voting. It definitely would have been more of a fight with Bernie. They both have cult-of-personalities and similar speech patterns while also being very different. And they’re both hated by parts of the establishment.

Now our greatest hope is Biden challenging Trump to fisticuffs. But that won’t happen because they probably won’t debate, let alone be in the same room as each other.
