RIP Poison Cleansing Totem

I’d say something from Druid or Mage, but those are Blizz’s babies and they wouldn’t hurt them like that.

I’m leaning towards Paladin’s cleanse toxins. Cooldown’s just too short, I’m afraid. (Don’t mind that it rapidly OOMs you.)

Damn… Truly the Mass Dispel treatment, because that one was well received…

Yo Blizz can you stop nerfing abilities because a particular M+ season makes them too strong??, maybe fix dungeon design instead??..

Like why not simply turn some of the poisons/curses from the current season into diseases?

Or maybe instead of nerfing PCT add a new ability, something like:

Mass Cleanse: Cleanses an area, dispelling all poisons and curses from 5 friendly targets (45s CD).
New Priest ability, choice node with Mass Dispel.

That’s not a mentality I feel like blizz has ever truly supported. If they did everything would do the same as everything else and the only choice to be made would be skill. But no one wants their spec homogenized. Would you as a priest be ok if every other healer also had a barrier to reduce dmg taken or also had a buff that gave 5% stam?

Paladins received a talent to add poison immunity to Blessing of Sacrifice, which is on a 2 min cooldown.

Why they would need that? Did they ask for it?
IDK
Poison is something they already remove natively, but sure more immunities

Shamans already have both of these you are talking about, if it means every other healer having a fair chance of entering M+ groups at +12 and above, I am okay with it.

Not necessarily. After the change goes live I expect groups will be looking for both a resto shaman and a dps shaman for every group now, rather than just one or the other. Shaman becomes 2x more desirable!

should honestly be baseline for resto if they are nerfing it that much…its was already a niche talent choice until this new affix nobody likes or wants.

Stamina Buff is unique to Priest yes, but quite a few classes give a Raid/Party buff of similar style. Mages for Int, Shamans for Mastery, ect…

I’m talking about baseline, non-class thematic abilities. - Someone mentioned Role specific abilities like FFXIV, while healers have thier own flair and personality, they all share the same base abilities.

All Healers should have:

  • Interrupt
  • Poison Removal
  • Curse Removal
  • Magic Removal
  • Battle Rez
  • Mass Rez

Then each healer can specialize and have a theme that they specialize in, or sets them apart from other healers.

  • Shaman : Mastery - Bloodlust - Poison Cleansing Totem - Self Rez - Other Totems - ect
  • Priest : Stamina - PW: Barrier - Power Infusion - Mass Dispel - ect
  • Paladin : Lay on Hands - Blessings - Bubbles - ect
  • Ect…

You can give the basics without removing class fantasy or identity of a class.

It just makes sense that all Healers have an interrupt in the current iteration of the game. - Resurrection and Cleansing Ailments seems like something that thematically all healers should have in their Kits. That’s their Job… They heal and cure people.

Same thing happened to Mass Dispel, welcome to the club.

Same thing happened to mass dispel. Kill the talents instead of having difficult yet engaging gameplay.

Or it makes bringing a resto and DPS shaman more desirable

Shamans were good for all of one patch, time to gut them

it was a dead talent in pvp anyways unless your facing a rogue.

Or Hunter because you could dispel Sting and poisons against Survival.
