The old one is for the clout, nothing more. They’ve made a ‘new one’ already.
I say this as someone with tons of old items, and original Hakkar’s heart and Craftman’s Writs in the bank, lol.
I REALLY doubt they’d bring these back, maybe when the last veteran quits or something lol.
They brought back old Naxx, and decided to exclude some items from it, Corrupted was among them.
It’s got the same value as a ZG tiger or Scarab Lord.
Why, let the oldheads have their items.

It looks garbage compared to newer weapon models, but sure, I guess.
With old SM opened again I’m very curious if the RP event with the Corrupted Ashbringer works.
No reason why they can’t. 
Just make it a grind or something.

I want Benediction and Rhok’delar back too. There was no reason to remove those.
Using corrupted ashbringer as a paladin is a mistake, it only looks good on deathknights. that’s why i would want it honestly.
My bad.

Honestly, how I would do it, to make it obtainable legitimately would be to use the old Ashbringer Myth.
BUT incorporating the Outland Portion Since Pala got the first half for the hidden appearance in Azeroth.
it could be a worth while grind to farm some Forgotten Echo’s or shattered soul shards
to finally get the old corrupted ashbringer.
Or an alternative idea(Which I would lean more to), we fight Alexandros’s spirit in the Naxxramas to collect an item to reforge a Consecrated weapon into a defiled blade to have the appearance of the CA but it not being the CA. like how most items were reused for mog purposes.
but ehh anything would be better than nothing. in my honest opinion.

Boring, I already have it. Not the same as the OG, and plus that can’t be mogged on anything other than a Pally. Boring.
I’m pretty sure you can get it through fishing.
