RIP multiboxer

I had in a bg with 3 groups of shamans wiping the field of alliance ,not a experience you want to have you couldn’t even rez .

Because it is.
Personally, when multiboxing, I don’t view characters as a character per se, but more of a unit like an RTS would be. Except I’m controlling in third person.

Obviously Blizzard wont release that information, but the process of buying and selling gold through 3rd party means is a bannable offense. And what is the reason those are bannable offenses? Keeping in mind that I personally fully support that they are and should be bannable.

really?
The please esplain why the game LAUNCHER allows for EIGHT WOW accounts…ALL of which can be played simultaneously…and more than one launcher can be run…allowing for EIGHT WOW accounts EACH.

Sorry but in NO WAY does the game set up even remotely seem to indicate that only one character was EVER intended to be restricted to.

MBing really can’t happen in BGs anymore, right? Didn’t they break follow in BGs. Also, aren’t MBers kinda bad at pvp since like some quick cc will break that coordination?

Oh yes, gold selling is bannable and should be banned. I just asked how you came to the conclusion that it was a practice being done by MBers, or if you were erroneously conflating the two in order to vilify MBing as a practice?

Blizzard will do anything to deflect blame off themselves, I wouldn’t trust anything they say.

posting this thread again that someone posted elsewhere.
maybe you MB haters will actually take 10 minutes to go READ the blue responses and learn just where you are in error as to what is allowed and what isnt

though i doubt you will.
Arguing with us in here who have ZERO influence on blizzards rules is just much easier.

Well, that’s on you then. Hate away! Not that it’ll change anything.

Multibotting is the easiest way to farm raw gold. Anyone who spends any amount of time over on the WoWeconomy Reddit knows this. That’s also how one learns about things like 2x4 farms

They did thank god broke it .They are bad but good at the same time if you know how and when to combat them. CC helps but doesn’t always work because they’re programmed.Kill the controller stops the process til he/she moves the control to another that was the problem we had in the Bg i was in .They needed to kill them fast but alliance choose not too because the guys was famous.

actually, while farming is good, AH flipping pays much better, much quicker.
Secondly, boxing, again…isnt botting.
This blue response may help

One action PER account PER keypress.
blizzards rules…not mine…not yours…sorry.

In all fairness, the majority of players are not going to be able to watch a boxer or botter and 100% be able to determine which he is doing.

Every time one of these discussions comes up, one player is certain he saw a bot and another (who wasn’t there) is certain it was only a boxer. The only way to know for sure is to see what programs they are running, and only Blizzard has that capability.

Just as an example: I took my hunter trio out this morning for a quick run-through on a few WQs. The Quillrat Matriarch was up. I drop in, and a trio of boomkins are soaking up the field of quillrats. I simply asked “are you botting?” (not expecting an answer). Low and behold, one answers and says “Yes, we need to pull all to wipe matriarch”.

I don’t agree with botting, but I do box. And I, for one, see the lines that Blizz drew to define the rules for boxing. Crossing any of those turns into botting. I know some players don’t care about the line between and see the two as synonymous, but at the end of the day…one is allowed and the other is not.

That said, I have to ask: What’s going on Moonguard? Did a boxer ruin your ERP session? Why are the players from that one server having daily cryfests about boxing?

It is automation, not dissimilar to any other addons in WoW. Almost all addons automatically modify some file to complete its intended task, for example any of the Warcraft Text Files in the WTF folder. 3rd party apps can help facilitate this, and collect other data relevant to its use without breaking the ToS (TSM for example).

As far as Blizzard is concerned, from the perspective of a client window, 1 input (keystroke, click) can only have 1 output (in game action), and that 1 input must be the result of a players action each time (ie not automated).

Very likely its only a couple people posting on alts and there isnt any massive issue at all.

It’s not hate, it’s truth, ever since that.

“Do YoU gUyS nOt HaVe PhOnEs?”

I’m pretty sure they were deflecting blame on a terrible update nobody asked for onto their own fans.

Blizzard still has never apologized for that.

On both uther and cenarius these guys are fairly common in the legion and BFA areas. Its actually a bit silly.

Where does it say that? And if that were true, why are we all able to have up to 8 wow accounts?

Still, that doesn’t actually prove guilt. It just proves that the could do it. It’s still false correlation. Also, I think someone pointed out that there are other ways to make gold that are as good or even better.

What are you even on about. This is the second weirdest post I’ve seen today.

Fair enough. I don’t really pvp if I can avoid it. I just thought I heard that they got rid of the ability, so I guess you can count that as a victory but it does remove one of the main reasons people keep using to “ban boxxers”, yea?

I mean…no its still hate. Justifiable because of recent actions by the devs over all (though not really wow specific). Which is why I said to go for it all you want…

But…it’s not truth…Its still subjective.

I don’t think the servers matter unless you are running WM on a RP server. Everything else gets mashed together.

My stance is the completion of the task from start meaning human input to completion after input would determine if the action was automated.
To which you explained going to highlight here.

This would be the program used.

This is the begining of the task

And this would be execution of the task.
If all of this happened in one single action it would be automated and considered botting but you followed up with.

Which would mean there is a delay and required additional input from you you complete the task which would make it a grey area.
As far as macros and key binds those are made available by blizz and not part of my argument I’m focused on the outside programs.
Side note blizz had to go and break 3 of my macros because they were too op :frowning:
