Man, I grew up with CD. Sad day. One of my favorite stories I wrote was the aftermath of The Devil Went Down To Georgia.
Who remembers the Primus cover?
This year sucks.

Iâm 23 and I didnât grow up in the US, my parents donât listen to that type of music so Iâve never heard it.
So very young basically, itâs all good, just surprising when you see someone who hasnât heard of it, specially when its been a major song on guitar hero lol.
The Primus cover is amazing, I like it more than the original.
Lord, come on. Give us a broke , hate this year.
Pardon the comment but this year flat out feels like it has told the world going in dry
Yeah thatâs life. There are artist all around the world with millions of fans no one has heard about. It depends on age, where you grew up etc etc.
Respect to the artist, hopefully he is in a better place!
Lol I thought this WAS a Primus song.
That reminds me of a clip from an interview with David Bowie I was a while ago. I forget what the question was but he related a story of a young fan heâd recently encountered. Apparently, she told him how much she liked The Man Who Sold the World and that she thought it was awesome that he covered Nirvana. He wasnât thrilled.
Rest easy, Charlie. A true legend.
Golden Fiddle tribute please.
All the good names are dropping like flies.
There was a group that made a sequel to âThe Devil Went Down to Georgiaâ ⊠and while Iâm sure they just wanted to honor a classic ⊠it just didnât have the same feel as the original.
There was just something about the music in the original that the âsequelâ couldnât match.
My dad was big into country music, and while I wasnât as big into it, there were some songs that just sunk their claws in. Devil Went Down To Georgia was one of them.
Gonna look that one up. Not big into country music but hey ⊠CD was GOOD. He deserves to have people look up his stuff. In his memory.
I hope you like it. Itâs just absolutely my favorite Charlie Daniels track of all time.
farewell, charlie.
Really shows his skill. I mean comparing the frantic pace of Devil Went Down to Georgia and the more casual pace of Uneasy Rider.
