RIP Annihilator

The War Within Alpha shows that Annihilator has been removed from the game for Fury :frowning:

Great, now we all get to spam Raging Blow again. Annihilator was a great replacement.

Really sad at the removal of Annihilator. Was looking forward to trying out a Fury Warrior in WW specifically because of it. Loved the idea of a lower-APM themed melee DPS spec.

You do know that Arms Warrior exists, right?

Annihilator wasn’t any lower apm since fury was still gcd locked.

Annihilator being removed is a pretty awful.

It provided a more enjoyable fury gameplay as opposed to the excessive spam of Raging Blow, while it did not really provide less APM it did provide a less spammy rotation as your fingers danced across the keyboard as opposed to spamming Raging Blow until it stopped resetting.

Overall fury is worse off without it.

I loved that spells and I wanted to play my Fury with storm auto-attack but now im like meh they removed what I loved about fury

It might not have accomplished the goal, but it wasn’t a bad playstyle by any means. I personally enjoyed the passive rage gen, and non-raging blow spam. I definitely don’t feel like we gained anything by it’s removal with the current state of the alpha trees lol.

I personally didn’t care for annihilator fury to me has always been a fast APM spec and replacing raging blow with… Slam? Wasn’t into it but still do it for the dam :muscle:

I hope they reverse this

Lol OP you didn’t read the whole post did you? Blizzard said they are also making it so there is a less spammy play style so just wait.

I’m still going to miss Annihilator, I really enjoyed it.

Annihilator didn’t change Fury’s APM. It just reduced the relative cost of hitting actions other than your spam (Raging Blow normally, BT with Annihilator). With it, your spam could only fill at most every other GCD, so you could more easily fill with CD-GCDs and WW.

I faintly preferred Raging Blow, but I think that was 90% because of the VFX and AFX quality of RB over BT; in terms of actual playflow, they were equal to me. And I can see why plenty would prefer Annihilator’s button-pressing over RB’s.

Pretty lame ngl. Single-Minded Fury with less button clutter was fun, albeit a little weak.

Would’ve paired reaaaallly well with the auto attack bonuses from the Slayer and Mountain Thane trees

So, let me preface by saying that I really like the Season 3 playstyle.

However, the Annihilator gameplay only worked BECAUSE of this tier set. There’s a reason Annihilator fell behind back in Season 1 when the set bonuses were boring. I think from a gameplay perspective, fury should always be a high APM spec. The fantasy is about being a berserker, and slamming key after key in a wild cacophony of mashing is what makes you feel like a berserker. I think that if we want an lower APM spec that feels more controlled and methodical, that’s Arms. We should be asking Blizzard to make Arms more competitive, because historically it’s always been kind of bad in PvE so PvPers can have their one-shot, one-kill gameplay in deathmatches.

Unless i am reading the new changes wrong, Raging Blow spam has been nerfed into the ground. So the Annihilator playstyle should still be around even if the talent itself is gone.

Exactly, the Slayer’s Strike you get from Slayer’s Dominance is an extra attack that has a high chance of procing and you get auto-attack speed buffs later on.

It seems tailor made for an SMF Annihilator build.

Didn’t think about it like that but it makes sense

I am disappointed personally. I feel like spamming bloodthirst is much better than spamming raging blow. I am healing off bt plus enraging more

While I could care less whether it was kept or not, and just enjoy fury for it’s esthetic… Annihilator fans are in the minority, and it’s literally been proven by the tier set vote. Vast majority of Fury warriors enjoy raging blow.

With that being said, I dont know why it cant still be an option, but we for some odd reason still have SMF as a choice node in the talent tree that nobody in their right mind would ever take/pick and should have been made baseline like titans grip. I dont get why they cant just remove the smf node or bake annihilator into it. The node would have to be overloaded to even have someone invest in it anyway and even with the addition of annihilator it would still fall short of titans grip and cost a talent point.
