RIP Agony combo skill

Pour one out…guess we’ll never know what the “Agony as a combo skill” talent was ever supposed to be haha

We tried reducing vile taint’s cooldown by 5 seconds in season 2. It didn’t work out well then, either.

I’ll hope they’ve got another idea to slap onto that node.

2 things I’d love to see them clarify -

  1. is Wither’s lack of interaction with Absolute Corruption bugged or intended?

  2. is the difference between Agony’s duration and Vile Taint’s CD a intentional gameplay experience? Or, is affliction’s lack of tools to quickly spread DoT’s(compared to other classes) an intentional design choice?

With volatile agony, I don’t even see a problem with VT being unable to regularly refresh agony in aoe. The main issue is that it always felt unrewarding to keep agony up, but getting extra damage for it is a fine solution.

Reducing VT cooldown does nothing. It still can’t catch agony, even if we wanted it to, and VT is used in conjunction with other skills anyway.

Wither not working with AC is clearly unintended, or they have some other change to AC planned.

Yeah, I’m surprised to see they’re turning that tier set bonus into a talent. It made Agony → VT super awkward.

Where was this changed talked about? Can’t find it

damn… yeah my biggest gripe besides MR is just how agony application is currently.

  • Mark of Xavius has been redesigned – Agony/Wither damage increased by 20%/25% and the cooldown of Vile Taint/Cataclysm is reduced by 5 seconds.

I’ll be honest, we should not have to abide half-measures or lesser versions of other class’s base mechanics in our hero trees. Let this talent refresh all the Agonies within X yards of the target we re-apply Agony to if within the pandemic window or something like that. Tab targetting Argony on a big triple-pull deathball is not interesting gameplay, so lets just dispense with that.
